Camcorder from Ebay?

I havent really purchased things off ebay before...except little things. I want to have a camcorder for the wedding and the vacation part and was thinking I could just buy a used one off ebay for less. Does anyone have any experience buying something like this off ebay? Or have any suggestions?

Honestly you would probably be better off buying a new one on Ebay. The price might not even be that much more. The difference though is that you should get a warranty with it. What I do with camera equipment sometimes is to go to a store like Best Buy and try everything out and see what I actually like in person. Then I shop around online for the best deal.

If you buy one on ebay, make sure it is from a legit seller with a bunch of positive feedback. Then check to see if there is any kind of warranty or guarantee that it will work. Then make sure that things like the battery are included. A lot of places will scam you by not including certain things that should be in the original package.

You can get good deals on Ebay as long as you're careful and know what you're looking for.

Just make sure you do research on it before you buy it too. I don't know anything about electronics- DH is helpless too. Anyways, I bought a nano on ebay and thought I was buying a 2gb (or insert what I meant to say here) and bought a 1gb instead. I was pissed at myself because I paid the price for a 2gb one! The lady that sold it probably laughed at me for being such an idiot. UGH! Frustrates me all over again.

I bought an SD card on EBAY once and apparently it's one of the most forfeited items. So make sure if you get one with it that it works with everything you want it to work on--if there's any problems with any of the stuff make sure you lodge a complaint ASAP, I did that and got the money back super quick, the seller was super apologetic. Just give yourself tonnes of time

That's a good idea too. Buying used equipment from Amazon or even one of the big photo stores like B&H is easier than wading through all the scams, crap and more crap on Ebay.

I think people get caught up in wanting to win on ebay sometimes & items go for way too much.

Thanks everyone...I never thought of Amazon to look at that stuff. I think I am more willing to buy from them than Ebay. I was overwhelmed with the listings on Ebay and what they didn't and did include with the sale.

Thanks Jason too about going to look at Best Buy or something first and then looking...defiantly doing that this weekend.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
