We havent booked the beach reception yet, but I just received an email from the wedding coordinator at the Ocean Sand Resort (where we currently have 24 people booked) with all the prices. If you would like it, PM me and I can email it to you. We're still trying to decide if we're going to make it private or not...

What is the Ipod option, because I would rather bring my ipod than pay $300 for a DJ that I will provide all the music to anyway...

.
The IPOD option is allowed at my hotel by renting a $35 piece of equipment. but you have to provide someone to work the IPOD

Damn, that is expensive! My package at the Paradisus costs $2750, and includes the wedding, a short cocktail party after the ceremony, and a beach reception with a buffet for 20 people. Each additional person is $60 I think. Maybe check another resort?

The price seems crazy! THe only reason I can think that they have a charge if for set up a bit from the buildings and lugging everything back and forth...

But I am having a beach ceremony at Dream's and they said that there is no extra charge for set up / to hold it there... Just pay for the dinner cost per person.

They charge $300 for ceremony on the beach but not for the reception.. However that works out.

I think that a lot of brides do the ipod thing.

My fiance came up with a great idea on the weekend to save money on the reception...let me know what you guys think of this.

He thinks we should do the dinner in the restaurant (which is free with our package) and then have the cake, drinks and dancing on the beach...which I would imagine would only cost $1000-$1500 to have them set up tables and give us a bartender for the evening. I am still awaiting a response from the resort as to whether they will do this or not.

I think that would be a good idea! Let us know what they say!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
