Dental Stuff - Veneers / Implants / Crowns

Alyssa ~ I also have veneers - let me count them lol....hey, I have 8 too! On the top. Anyways, mine were done poorly. They're supposed to last 10-15 years but mine started to "leak" after about 5-7 years. One of my veneers cracked big time (like half the tooth is gone!) over a year ago so there is worry of decay with that tooth. Luckily it's the one furthest to the left so you don't see it when I smile.

I have sooo much dental work to be done. I began with having my wisdom teeth removed. Not sure if you were around much during all that but it was HELL. I got a bad infection and am just now (nearly a YEAR later!!!) getting over residing issues from that.

Anyways, definitely be careful and make sure you get a good dentist. If you can find one, a homeopathic dentist is supposedly the way to go. Apparently all these metals they put in our mouths can really mess us up, and "Natural Dentists" are supposed to use different materials. There is one located about 3 hours from me. Not sure if I'm going to go that route or not.

Now that I'm finally getting over the wisdom teeth removal I can't wait to get my veneers redone and have my teeth look movie star pretty again wink.gif I'm hoping to get them done by the wedding, after I graduate so hopefully late this year/early next.

Good luck and if there's anything else I can help you with just let me know! :)

~ Jaime

Aww Alyssa I'm so sorry you are having all these dental problems. I hope your getting anesthesia so you won't feel any of this. I'm sure everything will be okay and I have heard that a root canal is worse so if you survived that, you'll def survive this. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for no pain for you.

girls, i just got back from the dentist - they called me and had a last minute schedule change and they fit me in at 10:30Am this morning instead of my planned Thursday appointment.

So, although my whole face is still numb, it is wearing off and the pain is kicking in - OUCH. he wrote me Anaprox, Amoxicillin and something else. I also picked up a bottle of Chardonnay (Dr. and Pharmacist both said 1 or 2 glasses would be cool). i look like a major crack whore b/c there are no teeth over the implants as they are making them and i have to go back tomoorw at 4pm. My mom made me a homemade chix soup and is dropping that off soon but otherwise i will be on here stalking you guys for distraction wink.gif

Oh that stinks, Alyssa - hope you're feeling better soon!

This might be a stupid question, but are the posts for the implants super visible? I always have these visions of when someone gets old and loses teeth that they'll just have this big ol' post stickin up out of their gums.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
