OOT and guest arriving at different times

Recommended Posts

So I know that we are suppose to put the OOT bags in our guests rooms prior to their arrival, but, what about those guests that arrive at the same time that we do?

And, another question. We want to go to Playa Del Carmen and pick up some trinkets and maybe local candy or something for our OOT bags. Obviously, this would have to happen the second day there. So, how can we do that and still get the OOT bags in the rooms before the guests arrive?

Today I'm freaking out about the little things....

Yes, I'm kinda worried about this too. We are arriving a day before everyone else so that's not a problem, but our guests are all arriving from Sat, to Wed at different days. So, some of the things I'd like them to be able to use the whole time. I considered giving them at our welcome party but not until Wed when all the guests will be there. So then I'm thinking to do an informal welcome party for Sat (when a lot are arriving) and then give each individual guests theirs as they arrive.

So, are your guests all arriving around the same time?? If so you could do a welcome party the night after you go to town to get your final things and give them to them then.

We are going to pass ours out at welcome party (informal... just at one of the bars). I know a lot of the resorts charge to deliver the bags... plus I would be worried someone wouldn't get it... so delivering themselves just seemed easier. Not sure what I"m going to do about the people (future brother/sister in law) who are going BEFORE us though.

I know some girls have given them out before the trip, so the guest can pack them on their own. 2 problems I see with this is 1)not everyone lives near you, and 2)what if they dont'/forget to pack it??

I'm planning on giving out our OOT bags prior to everyone leaving. Because we have a small guest list (cool.gif, our OOT bags are mostly a courtesy to our guests and include items they might "forget" or might want to put in their carry-ons (i.e. toothbrush, toothpaste, tylenol, hand sanitizer, gum, chapstick w/ SPF, tissues, etc). We got the small canvas totes from Promotional tote bags custom sizes and styles from cheap totes and filled them up! If the guests remember to pack them, great, if not my feelings won't be hurt unless they're complaining about how they forgot to pack toothpaste on their own AND forgot our bag of goodies!

I would take the bags with me, but I'm not purely for selfish reasons:
1. We are staying at a resort separate from our families and won't see them until the day of the wedding.
2. We want to be soaking up every minute of our Weddingmoon without worrying about tracking down guests.

Half of our guests are arriving with us, the others later in the week.

I plan to have the bags for those traveling with us made up and hand them out that night. For the rest of the guests, I'll keep everything in bulk and package them the evening we arrive. I figure with the bridal party helping me this will only take a few minutes. Then, Wednesday morning I'll drop them off at the front desk with the guests' names and the staff will pass them out as the guests check in. There isn't a fee to do this.

i kept a spreadsheet of what day/time everyone arrived. whenever i had a free chance i'd call their room and invite them to join us for the next meal. most of my guests arrived on the same day, and we all wound up going to dinner. i just gave them out then.

there were people who showed up before i was ready w/ the oot bags tho - i just gave them the next time we saw them. i didn't see some other guests until the wedding, so i had one of my bms take the bags to their rooms.

don't stress about this - it's an added bonus for your guests, and if it's not in the room when they get there, they won't care - or i can't imagine them caring, at least.

We are arriving at the same time as almost half of our guests. We are going to be going into town to buy some stuff for the oot bags as well. We will go into town to get the rest of the OOT bag filler the day after we get there... and give the group that arrived with us their bags that night. For the rest of the group we will meet them when they arrive... OR if we cannot do that, we will leave at the front desk for them to be given to them at check in.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
