I have a question...what do you do with your wedding dress once you get to the resort? how can you prevent it from getting stolen or damaged?

Good question. I never thought of that. I am sure the WC has a safe place for it.

Oh My I cannot worry about this! Just like the rest of my clothes in my hotel room I HOPE my dress stays there

Now as far as damage I am going to be very very careful...I made sure to get a dres that had little detail to it...

is it common for destination brides to have their dresses stolen?

it never occured that it could happen...i mean someone can always break into your hotel room but I try not think about things like that...

I'll tell you what happens if someone steals it, you throw a fit of rage and hold the hotel hostage until someone appears with it!!! Great now we have another thing to worry about.

i know tons of wedding photographers in places all over the world and never, not once, has one talked about the bride getting her dress stolen at a DW hotel/resort. the places where ive shot DWs in the bahamas and mexico probably do all the can to maintain their reputation as safe resorts. they wouldnt want something like that to happen. i wouldnt worry about it, seriously anyway.

file this under things that dont happen and even if it did i couldnt do much about it. or you could hire a dress sitter to sit with the dress until you put it on for the wedding - haha!

i agree with leigh...i have "met" hundreds of DW brides and have never heard of this happening.

phew! I started worrying at the top of this thread and by the time I got to the bottom I've relaxed....

opr maybe it's just a good excuse to wear the dress all weekend! (would that be wrong?)

This thread is cracking me up for some reason. Can you imagine having your dress stolen then seeing someone in the lobby wearing it? Saying things like "No, this is mine. I brought it from home. I like to wear it to lay out."

I'm obviously exhausted from the week.
