Boycott El Dorado Royale & Karisma Resorts-UPDATE policy REVISED!

Recommended Posts

I am not an EDR bride and do not think that this sticky is harsh......

I can understand if the outside vendor is "the caterer" but all other vendors should be up to the bride and groom especially the photographer.......I am all for the boycott....I would never chose a venue that I was not allowed to have my own photographer or was charges a vendor fee for one.......

Hey everyone!!

So I'm back :)

I have saved the date now to April 5th, 2009. (Palm Sunday), I wonder if that will raise any eyebrows. But oh well. Anyway, I need some help, Especially from those of you who just got married or are very close to getting married at EDR. WHAT IS THEIR CURRENT PHOTOGRAPHER POLICY....now? Unfortunetly, their policy changes way to often for me to keep up dizzy.gif. What other fees have you guys been told of, besides reserving a room for your photographer for X number of nights?? My wedding coordinator there is Valeria Martinez.

Thanks so much

This whole thread is in regards to EDR's policy, if you read through the posts you'll find the information regarding the fees, which I believe are $500 plus a 3 night stay.

If you have other EDR questions they would be better posted in one of the other EDR threads, since this is just a thread regarding policies.

Exactly- its ridiculous. That is the reason for the boycott. Even if you just need them one night, the 3 night stay is another way for them to charge you more money.

Also, just because that is the policy now, you can trust is won't change by next year. They change their policy all the time. If you are not wanting to use their photographer you might want to consider a different hotel. Girls have gotten around the policy, but it keeps getting harder to do that.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
