Sea Spa at Cabo Surf- I had a spa party booked for my six BM's and me on Friday before the wedding. I had never been in the spa prior but found out it was really small. I had emailed Cyntia who runs the spa a few months before and she assured me she could hold a spa party for me and my girls. I think she might have said this because she knew I was going to book Suzanne Morel for a spa party. Cabo Surf doesn't really want you to bring in your own vendors anymore (like hair, spa, makeup) because they have their own spa. I think the only reason I got to have Suzanne come was because I had given them like $800 in business for the spa party. Anyway, they have two pedicure chairs and two massage rooms. What we ended up doing was having two girls get a pedicure at the same time and one girl get the massage then we rotated. So some girls were out at the pool and then the other girl came out to get them when they were done. Not exactly my idea of a "spa party" but everyone got pampered. Also, the services were amazing! Best massage of my life! So I highly recommend their services but if you want to be all together with your girls at the same time, this is not the place.

Baja CAntina- We had our RD there on Friday night. Originally Maye and I were working with someone else but she left a few weeks ago and a guy named Ulises took over. Luckily I had saved all my quotes and emails because he tried to tell me they didn't have my reservation on the terrace. Or they did, but now they couldn't do the taco bar on the terrace due to fire danger and the open flame. So of course I fought it and he ended up honoring my initial reservation. Maye booked two big, super nice buses for all my guests to get there from Cabo Surf. It was like $1100 to do so but we included it in our budget. Well worth it! When we got to Baja Cantina (Beachside) they had the terrace all set up for us with candles and the taco bar. It was exactly what I had wanted. Kind of secluded with a beautiful view of the arch. There were also heat lamps because it got a little cool by the water. There was a TON of food at the taco bar. They carved the meat for the tacos right there and grilled it in front of you. The food was really good! We had a drink on consumption bar tab and we told them to cut off the bar tab at $1500. Luckily our guests were really nice and every time they bought a round of patron or whatever, they paid cash themselves. Super thoughtful! Our tab was only $1000 when we closed out. Ulises is a nice guy and very accommodating. They had a cool band playing and the atmosphere was perfect. I even hired a guy through Maye who set up a screen and a projector to play our slideshow. One bus picked people up and took them back to Cabo Surf and one bus took everyone else to Squid Roe. I can't believe I partied til' midnight the night before my wedding but we're only in CAbo for our wedding once!

Maye used her vendors for my linens, lounge furniture etc. My tablescape was gorgeous! Maye did a darker orange linen underneath and a sheer orange one on top. I had all white lounge furniture around the pool and it looked amazing.

I think that's it! There's so much more to say and we have memories we will never forget. Once again, best decision of my life! Now to post the pics...

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
