Aw thanks! I want to see some twin ones!! I need to take some bump pictures too... I've gotten behind because I usually can't imagine taking a picture of myself like this haha. I did buy some bump stickers (with the weeks on them) and I bought the "Watch Me Grow" stickers so I can take monthly pictures of the little man. Shop - Share pictures with milestone clothing stickers. Picky Sticky Official Web Store.

Speaking of little man- have you come up with names yet?? My husband doesn't get that I need a name!! I really like Jackson, Miller, and Hayden so far... who knows!

        Ask and you shall receive!
Here's a couple blurry pics of the kids.

Boy names were pretty easy for us. DH is pretty laid back. We're keeping names a surprise for friends/family. Baby A = Ryan and Baby B = Carter. Middle names will be after both our Dad's, haven't decided which baby gets which Dad's name yet though!

It looks like our kids don't have any arms from the side view, but they do and they like to punch each other and their Mommy already! We're probably going to do 3D u/s pics around the 30 week mark as long as I'm feeling okay. I have to be off work at 28 weeks to rest and my OB wont let me go past 38 weeks, if I make it that far which hopefully for the twins sake, I do.

There is just something so amazing about seeing twins in an u/s! Do they have their own sac and placenta?

Sort of! They're monozygotic/diamniotic twins. They have 2 amniotic sacs, but they share a placenta. They're the most common identical twins. Mono/mono twins (share a placenta and amniotic sac) have a really high (60%) mortality rate b/c their cords get wrapped around each other's necks. Crazy how much there is to learn about twins once you're pg with them! We still have potentially big risks with our type of identical twins, but so far everything is good and normal with both them and me!

Okay so I need to rant a little bit! I've decided that I want to work after baby... and everyone seems to have an opinion on it and it's really annoying! I have an ongoing NIH grant that doesn't finish until 2012 and I feel obligated to finish it out... and with just 1 baby I feel like I can go back to work (maybe?). I've seriously had one mom tell me "I'll miss everything" if I work (this is from a fellow MD's wife who doesn't work and has a NANNY)... and my neighbor (a male - who should have no opinions on the subject in my opinion :) ) told me that if you have to have a nanny you shouldn't have children... WHAT?!?

People should just shut the f*** up because it's not their decision. I went back to work and yes I would love to spend more time with my baby but it just wasn't in the cards for us. She is in a loving daycare and has the best time being with other children. Sorry people are giving you unwanted advice! It seems to happen way too much during pregnancy.

Honestly, I think going back to work was the best thing I could have done for my baby and for me. I'm just WAY too social of a person that staying home with her made me crabby, and then a bad mom.
Don't get me wrong, I love having time with her, and playing with her... but ALL day, EVERY day, was too much for me. I wasn't creative so we just did the same things every day and it drove me bonkers!!
And she LOVES daycare. She literally gets excited to get in her carseat and get out when we're at school. She loves it. She loves the teachers, the interaction with the kids, and the food! :) Plus, she's learned so much by being around older children. It really is wonderful!

So, to each their own. Just imagine yourself punching those people in the face and smile and walk away :)

Ignore people and their useless advice. Both my parents worked when they had my sister and I and we turned out just fine (although that may be up for debate at times :)
We are both well adjusted, contributing members of society and I don't have any ill will toward my parents because they chose to work and make a happy life for the family.

Bottom line is to do what YOU feel is best for not only baby and family, but for yourself too! I'll return to work after we have the twins, but only very part-time. Being Canadian we get a substantial paid maternity leave (1 year at 55%, but my employer tops us up to 84%) so I won't be returning to work until after my mat leave is up. All that being said, I hate my job so taking a year off is definately the right thing for me!

I don't listen to people's unsolicited advice anymore. I didn't regarding the wedding and certainly won't regarding the kids! Whatever decision you make will be the right one for you and the fam! Everyone else can suck it!
