Mommies to be check in

Maybe you should leave right now and go shopping or get a mani or something to keep your mind off of it. You only have 2 more hours until you have to be there. I would even show up a little early :)

Martha - this is me getting your mind off of it wink.gif I just scheduled our "Prepared Childbirth" class. It's a 4 week course and I'm very excited. Have you done this yet? Anyone else?

I also want to do a breastfeeding class (which is just 1 night) and a "Basics of Baby Care" class. Are all the classes needed??

Ha! Jack is my pup... but, I was talking about him earlier so I think that is where you got that name from. Noah is the baby. :)
I drank OJ last time and he moved around so much then I guess he got tired because when it was time to check kidneys, he curled up in to a ball. Silly boy!

I don't know if all those classes are needed, but I would take them. I mean, never having had a baby before I need all the info I can take! I have sisters and of course my mom I could talk to, but what's better than a professional?
We haven't signed up for the 4 week class yet, because we are moving. I heard we should take it around the 7 month? Were you told this too?

I think month 7 is about when you are suppose to take it. I am delivery at Baylor Dallas, and their classes fill up really quick, so I went ahead and scheduled it for Sept 16-Oct 7, so we will have a for sure spot. I'll be in the begining of month 8 when it's over.

When I had my son, I missed the classes because he came early. But I really wish I had taken them. I had no idea what I was doing when it came to breathing, and I had a hard time coping with the initial pain before the epidural.

If you have the time, I say defiantly do the classes. I'm going to try and do some as well, for a refresher.

I don't think they necessarily "measured" the lips, it was just that they had to see it, like I said, it was part of that checklist of things they needed to see. I'm sure that's the reason you're going back~ since the kidneys are on the checklist, and he didn't cooperate when it was time to see those.

As for classes, I meant to go but didn't. When I found out I'd be leaving my classroom early, I got really busy with planning for the rest of the year for the sub. When I finally got around to calling about the class, it was too late. However, the lactation consultant I was talking to about it told me to go to the website: See What You Read || Home. She told me this is where they get their videos that they show in the classes. We looked at a few of them on there.

P.S. I go for my 6-week checkup today! I'm hoping I get the OK to get in the pool!! I'm needing a tan big-time! :)

I had to wait until this appointment because of the C-section. I think after a vaginal, you don't have to wait as long. Although, since you can't use tampons for at least 4 weeks (depending on what your doc says), it might be the same.

Soo many rules - I swear I'm never going to remember all of them. At least we don't have to know all the rules at once.

I'm getting my prenatal massage today and mani & pedi. I'm so very excited for work to be over so I can go!!

I should call and take care of mine....My best friend that is pregnant is due beginning of Sept. She went to register for delivery at the hospital and just signed up then. I guess I can do mine when I register?

Doc said she would try for me anyway but it didn't work so she said we will definitely be able to hear it next time. I had more blood taken for some standard tests. I'm not sure what tests they are because I declined consent for the triple quad screen and Cystic Fibrosis tests. Other than that it was pretty uneventful. I got the referral to the high risk specialist and called them right away. I go to the speicalist July 17th and I will have my first ultrasound there. I'm pretty excited about that.

Martha, I hope everything went well today.

Are you able to eat now, Mo? I bet you will get back on track with weight gain once you feel like eating!
I was able to hear Noah's heart at 6 weeks, but that was a vaginal sono, so that is probably why. I bet you will be able to hear babies heartbeat on the 17h! So exciting!!!

Well, this little man of mine is STUBBORN. She was able to see both kidneys just fine this time, but when she went to look at his heart, he had his arm covering it up! He kept moving around like crazy but kept that arm over his heart! She jiggled the little sono wand (or whatever it's technically called) on my belly for several minutes and he wouldn't move his hand! She was like what in the world? He is stubborn? She had me lay on my side facing away from her and finally he moved and she was able to get a good view of his heart. So, everything seems to be good!!!!!!

She tried to get a 3D pic for me, but he was covering his face with both hands in a fist! ha! He wanted to fight!

Also, he had his legs closed so we couldn't see his boy parts. Finally she was able to see "it" only because it was "hanging to the left" her words, not mine!

Ha! Anyways, He is going to be stubborn just like his mom AND dad....but he seems to be healthy, so yay!!!

Heartbeat was 141! cheer2.gif

Thank you for all the kind words, I really appreciate it!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
