Thanks, I'll try that today. Regarding the vitamins, I don't think that's causing it because I've been taking these prenatal vitamins for almost a year and I just started getting the nauseau a fews ago. I don't know what it is! But, I'm the way you are about meat right now. I've been avoiding the meat counter at the grocery store because I don't even want to look at it! I don't want to see or smell raw chicken either, yuck!

Hmmm... maybe your meals are too healthy? What kind of foods are you eating? Oh yeah, and potato chips. Yup, I have to have them. The american pregnancy blah blah blah also suggests them to help soak up what might cause "morning" sickness. It somewhat works for me.

But yes, I have toast around 8:30/9:00 and that usually makes my tummy okay for bed.

Good luck!!!

I eat healthy, but not too healthy. I have a pretty good balance of fats, carbs, and protein in my system. Don't get me wrong, now that I'm pregnant I do indulge in things that I wouldn't usually have often, but my stomach reacts the same way no matter what I eat. And yes, I lovvvve potato chips right now too. I was never one for salty foods and now I love chips and salsa with lots of salt... yum!

As for you being worried about the baby because you're going to bed hungry, that's a very good Mommy instinct but it's unlikely that you are hurting the baby especially if you are keeping down all those other meals throughout the day (or at least most of them). I was hospitalized in the beginning of my pregnancy for most of the month of July due to Hyperemesis and dehydration. I could not hold down anything not even crackers or any liquids any time of day. I did not eat solid foods for weeks. I had to have a picc line inserted into my arm and up and over to my chest and had IV fluids, vitamins, and nutrients pumped through that for 6 weeks. I lost 18 pounds. I don't mean to ramble about me because that part of pregnancy is done and over with (Thank God!) but my point is the docs kept telling me the baby was okay and the baby's measurements have been on target and I have carried full term. They said the baby is like a parasite and takes any stored nutrients from me and they assured me he would be okay. So try not to worry I'm sure you going to bed hungry is hurting you way more than baby. Still hope you find something that works though!!!

Ahh, you made me feel so much better right now about the baby's health. I was worried that because of my lack of food the baby would have some long-term affect and I would feel horrible! I've been thinking about it a lot more lately because everytime I gag, even if I don't throw up, my stomach hurts after, so I keep thinking I was hurting the baby that way too.

I can't believe that happen to you during your pregnancy; I'm so sorry to hear that. I'm glad everything's better now. It's amazing how everyone's body reacts so differently with pregnancy!

Hey girls!! cheesy.gif

I am not a mommy-to-be YET, but my DH and I have been discussing it as of late and I have some questions for you!!! (I hope it's okay that I post in this thread....)

Lately, I have major baby on the brain!!! For example, last week i had three dreams that I was pregnant and actually going through labor. I want one for sure (I am excited to experience that love you have for your child), but sometimes the thought freaks me out!! I guess my question is, Are you ever TRULY ready for a baby?? Plus, in this economy it makes me even more scared!!

My DH is 10 years older than me, and has said that he would like to have kids sooner rather than later, so i said in a year I would be willing to try for one....I just want to know if there is that "AHA" moment, where you just know 100% you're ready to be a mom. We make pretty good money combined, but I just fear we will be broke.

I am completely rambling, but any advice would be much appreciated!!!!

Congratulations to all the mommies/mommies-to-be on here!!!

Short answer... NOPE! At least I don't think so. I think no matter how ready you are you'll still second guess it at times. But you sound like you are ready, so good luck!

I was ready as soon as I saw that plus sign on my pee stick! Haha.. I don't think anyone is ever truely ready to have a child, but man once they are here you can never imagine your life without them. We aren't the wealthiest people, but our daughter always comes first. She always has everything she needs to be healthy, happy and safe. I never thought I wanted kids until I met my FI and knew he would be a great dad and in turn make me a great mom! Our daughter is 5 months and we are already talking about another one!!

Good Luck :)

Oh Kaylee, I have to admitt when I say your post at first I was really excited that you might be prego with us.

I dont think at least with me, there is a prefect time. There will always be something going on. So you just try to prepair and go with it and dont look back. With me it was now or never. Im 37 and did want to have anymore any later. And hubby doesnt have any children so we agreed on one right away. Good luck to you and Doug. You can atleast start practicing. Lets us know.

I have to agree with the other girls and say, IMO, I don't think you are ever 100% ready. I still don't think I'm 100% ready, but you deal with what comes your way. My DH really wanted to start trying as soon as we got married. I, on the other hand, wanted to wait a bit because I was a little scared about the whole thing. We started trying but I didn't think I would get pregnant right away and I would have plenty of time to be preggo-free. Well, my DH and I had been arguing for a few days and when we "made up", we made a baby! I had no idea I was even ovulating at the time. So, need-to-say, even though the baby was planned, some how I was still shocked at the fact that I got pregnant and I was so scared. I'm still scared, but now it's an exciting scared because everything is so new to me.

So, I say go for it if you two want to! All your worries and concerns won't even match the excitement you will have about being pregnant.

Mrs. Martin I felt the same way you did and it started at about 11 weeks. I was sick all day long, I had to time my hunger pains because the nauseau and the hunger just made me feel awful. I had to eat every 1.5-2hrs. It only lasted for about 3-4 weeks so hopefully you'll be feeling better soon. It's funny because when I read what your going through it's identical to what I'm going through. Maybe I should tell you whats going to happen next so you'll be prepared. LOL!!! From the cold water to wanting salty food. I swear Sour Cream and Onion chips and "On the Border" Chips with salsa and queso are always on my grocery list. But I try not to eat that because I don't want to blow up after eating all this sodium.

To answer your question Kaylee from my POV, I was 19 when I had my first child and I was definitely not ready and when I had my son I was ready, but like Kelly and Mrs. Martin said there will always be something going on but that is something you have to deal with. I went through some stuff that made me a stronger woman. You learn, grow and adjust to change. There will always be it's ups and downs but being a mother is a blessing. So if you feel your ready just go with it and take it one day at a time.

Angel- Funny thing you mentioned sour cream. I'm obsessed with it right now and yesterday I was just dipping my salty chips in to some... yum!! Since you and I have been having the same symptoms, I agree, you should just tell me what to look forward to next (it better not be anything bad shameonyou.gif)!

I had my 12 week appt this morning and everything went well! I finally got to see a baby and not just a little peanut-looking picture on the ultra-sound. I started to cry; it was wonderful to see my baby! He/She was soooo active; the little arms just kept waiving around. It made it difficult to get a good pic, but here's the clearest one I get:

The pic makes it seem like the baby has extra long arms, but it's just that he/she kept moving them...too cute!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
