I hope everyone is feeling good today. I had my 27 week appointment yesterday. I gained 8 lbs in 3 weeks. Yep - that's right! I'm officially at 22 lbs for 27 weeks. Not so happy about that, but whatever. I'm learning to deal with it. Everything else was great. I go back in 3 weeks and he said we could "talk about" another sono. yah!

Lizz and Lisa, you two crack me up. You're so tiny and this is the one time in your life you shouldn't worry about gaining weight.

I have a question. I have an ultrasound scheduled for Aug. 25th. I will be a little over 17 weeks. Is there any chance they will be able to tell the baby's gender at this ultrasoundhuh.gif? How many weeks were you when you found out? I'm just so anxious to know. I considered cancelling the appt. amd resceduling for a week or two later, but I'm not sure.
I am not sure, but at my 14 week the ultrasound tech thought she saw the gender. I am going in at 19 weeks and they told me they would be able to let me know then.

I had the NT ultrasound & bloodwork appointment today to screen for chromosonal defects. I don't get the results til Monday, so keep your fingers crossed that all is well!

First I met with a genetic counselor who explained all of our options. I'm not high risk at all, but thought it would be good to be prepared if God forbid something is wrong.

The baby was nuts at the appointment. I had an extra long ultrasound because he/she wouldn't stop moving and the tech couldn't get any good pictures. Finally, the baby rested but in the wrong position. They finally got the pictures, but I was just happy that I got to stare at my baby for so long:)

After that I had to get bloodwork done and the idiot girl had to stick me 3 different times before she could finally get a vein...ugh!

I go back to the doctors in 4 weeks for my 17 week check-up and then to get another ultrasound in 7 weeks to check the anatomy (and to find out the gender but I'm not planning to do that).

Mo - I think you should be able to find out the gender at your next ultrasound. I can't wait to find out what you're having!!! My SIL is actually scheduled to find out what she's having on August 25 too!

I am usually popping in long enough to read this thread, but don't ever chime in. I really shouldn't be on the forum at all here at work.

I have been feeling well for the most part. I have had some issues though....

I started spotting one day, which led to heavy bleeding. I went to the ER because I thought I was miscarrying, but they called it a subchrionic hemmoragehuh.gif That was at 12 weeks, and I am at 16 now. They also think I might have placenta previa (or partial)... not sure yet. I will find out more at my 19 weeks appt.

Because of this I have been going to the doctor once a week, and so far have had 4 ultrasounds! Everything is right on track though, so I pray the baby is safe!

Talk about stressful....!

Does anyone know of these things??

Mo, we found out at 20 weeks. We tried at 14 weeks, but he wouldn't cooperate. Silly boy!

Lizz, I'll keep my fingers and toes crossed for you. I was so worried about that test!

Shea, Sounds like you have been through a lot already. I hope you are just taking it easy. I'll keep you in my thoughts!

Lisa, that is so me! I cry all the time now! I wanted an ice cream sandwich the other night and the store Jay went to didn't have any, so he bought me one of those cones with the nuts on them. Normally I love those, but when he brought it home I got SO upset. sad.gif Poor guy!

Oh Shae - you poor thing. I'm sure that was very scary! I know nothing about it, so I'm no help. At least you've been able to see your little one several times. That's exciting!

That's funny Martha! I cry at the stupidest things too!!

The girl in the hospital room with me had Placenta Previa. She had to have a c-section and had to have the baby early, I think 36 weeks. She had some problems, lots of bleeding, so she was on bed rest for the last few months, she had no choice. But I know there are different degrees of it and it does not affect everyone the same way. Her baby was very healthy though, just smaller than her other children because she was early.

They say 90% of the time it fixes itself, so I am praying for that. It basically just means that my placenta is possibly attached above my cervix, which then would require me to have a c-section.
My cousin had it, (must have been partial) because she delivered naturally. We will find out more at my 19 week ultrasound. Hopefully this is not the case!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
