Breastfeeding is so important to me, if I can I would like to give Hannah 100% breast milk, but I'm sure we will need a bottle for Daddy once in a while.

Do you have an recommendations on pumps? I was thinking Medela, but wasnt' 100% sure yet.
Well I've never USED a breast pump. But I had bosses that used the Medela and also the Ameda. So it sounds good to me wink.gif. Just b/c a bottle doesn't have liners doesn't mean you can't put breastmilk in it. Most pumps come with the storage either bags or bottles. Just heat it and pour into the bottle of choice. I promise it's not hard! Just don't heat it in the microwave wink.gif.

Martha- I totally understand waiting until your settled. We didn't do anything for Hannah until after the wedding. It's too hard to work on 2 projects at the same time.

Lisa- That is the same pump that I was thinking about getting! I've heard really good things about the medela brand.

Mo- I'm so glad your are starting to feel a little better, you have been through so much so far. I'm keeping my fingers crossed for you that you feel good during your trip and cousins wedding!

I can't wait to see pics of all of the nurseries. We haven't even started to work on ours. It's going to drive me insane b/c Mike doesn't want me to take down wallpaper or paint (even though I told him it's fine to do it while I'm prego, he's a spazz with this baby), so I have to wait for him to do it and he's such a slacker! Hopefully it will all be done by Christmas. We also want to finish the living room, dining room, our bedroom, etc. etc. We just bought the house in January and said we would do everything "after the wedding". Well right after the wedding, I found out I was pregnant, so now I'm dependent on Mike...ahhhgirl_werewolf.gif

Mo, I'm so glad you're starting to feel better. I'll be down in OC just for the day this Saturday...maybe I'll see you on the boardwalk!

Sounds like everyone is doing well! So glad to hear about all the good test results! And, Mo...that's great that you're feeling better. I know this has been a horrible pregnancy for you so far...I hope the last 2/3s are a lot easier for you!

Calia ~ I just found the Siliskin bottles last night...they look amazing. I read that the silicon skin can actually come off the bottle and be used with any Evenflo glass bottle (4oz or 8oz respectively). I'm definitely planning to use glass bottles...the idea of plastic even if it is BPA safe, just doesn't sit right with me...call me paranoid, but what if another harmful chemical is found...yes, I know...like I said, I'm paranoid....dh would be rolling his eyes at me right now...lol.

also read that glass is the best way to store breast milk, so I'm hoping to pump and store in the evenflo bottles and then switch the siliskin to the bottle that needs it. It was ironic to see your post right after I found those bottles/bottle covers...funny.

anyway, I'm barely out of the first trimester and already researching bottles and natural crib mattresses!

Speaking of natural crib mattresses....I unpacked our new mattress last night. I knew we got one that had air flow, but wasn't expecting what I saw, and not sure if I like it. It's like trampolin material. Weird.

It's the HALO Active-Airflow Crib Mattress. The blue part is the trampolin material - and the white part around the edge uis hard plastic. There is also a filter and fan in it to keep the air flowing. What do you girls think about this?

Thats funny! I did know you can switch it. I think thats great! If you amazon it alot of people buy the siliskin and then another bottle. You'll love them. I am plastic paranoid also. Whenever I watch a child I wince feeding them b/c I'm so scared of the plastic bottle! UGH!

About the mattresses. I won't ever put my child on a crib mattress. It must be wrapped or natural. I wasn't going to post this b/c I don't want to freak everyone out and I know someone on here had their child pass from sids and it's a touchy subject. And I don't want to take it lightly. Personally, I don't like chemicals in bottles, diapers, paint etc. So when I get preggo I'm not using a crib I'll use the happy hangup for a while. And when the crib is necessary I WILL wrap the mattress or get a natural mattress. Anyways heres the article. I know not everyone likes cosleeping (me included) only b/c I cannot fall asleep and our bed is too small. But if I could I would.

That's an interesting article Calia...I'm concerned about the fire retardents, the other chemicals and the phthalates that come out of these mattresses. I hadn't heard of mattress wraping..I'm going to look into that. these are the mattresses that I'm considering so far....they're just more expensive than a conventional mattress and it's hard to find one without chemical fire retardants, although wool is a natural fire retardent from what I've read.

btw, I'm so plastic phobic that I use a stainless water bottle everyday that I fill with water from my reverse osmosis tap.....yes, some would say I'm a freak! lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
