Mommies to be check in

I went for my 6 month appointment and my glucose test today.

I gained 3 lbs - up 14 lbs for 6 months. I'm pretty happy with that. I feel like I gain so much weight during the month, then get weighed at the doc and it is really just in my head. My body is just adjusting to my growing boy.

Anyway, the heart beat was good. It was funny - everytime she would find the heart beat, he would move - so she had to chase him around my stomach to get an accurate reading. We were laughing, so I never asked her how it was. I'm sure it was good or she would have said something.

Glucose test wasn't bad. They took my blood - I drank some orange drink which tasted like an orange fanta - waited an hour and they took more blood. I go back in 3 weeks for the results.

So, all is well and we leave for Fredericksburg tomorrow. We'll be gone until Sunday. I'm so happy to get away one last time with my hubby before little Luke gets here.

Thanks Lizz!
Oh and I'll be sure to take a 6 month bump pic either in the morning before we leave or in a swim suit on our trip :)

Sorry is this is TMI, but my stomach hurts sooooo bad. I have never had a constipation problem before and these prenatal vitamins are killing me. I have been taking metamucil and even just went and bought prunes! Any other remedieshuh.gif

Argh....I totally feel your pain. I've been taking 3 metamucils everyday since Friday and finally today a little happened, but not much at all.

Try Raisin Bran...that might help. There's a thread on constipation. I'll go find it.

Lisa, I take that test today. I am glad it wasn't so bad. But waiting 3 weeks to get the results seems like such a long time. I hope mine don't take so long to get here! Yes, we need a belly pic!!!

Lizz, I know you can take stool softeners. Your doc can call some in for you. I have the total opposite of constipation.....for like 2 months already! UGH!

I got my results the next day, I did have an appointment the next day though, so that could be why I got so lucky. Lisa do you just have to wait for you appointment to find out? or are they saying it takes them 3 weeks to process?

My glucose test results should be back today. The nurse said it only takes a day to come back but we have to wait an extra day because I had some vaginal swab done to check for yeast or something that can cause meningitis and jaundice for the baby.

How is everyone feeling?

Hey girls!! I got a call from the doctors office on Wednesday - 1 day after my glucose test. She said my levels were elevated. Should have been under 140 - but was 159....argh!!!!!! So I have to go back in for the 3 hour test on Monday at 8:45am.

She said it could be nothing since it wasn't that high - but they want to make sure.

What really sucks is that I can't eat the entire time. That means I can't eating anything until almost noon. Nice!

Other than that news, we've been on vaca for the past fews days and I've been feeling o.k. Lots of walking....In the mornings I've been getting very light headed and dizzy. I've drank a little caffein and it gets better. It may just be the air in this cabin we are in.

Hope you girls are feeling good!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
