I've seriously had one mom tell me "I'll miss everything" if I work (this is from a fellow MD's wife who doesn't work and has a NANNY)... and my neighbor (a male - who should have no opinions on the subject in my opinion :) ) told me that if you have to have a nanny you shouldn't have children... WHAT?!?

We are both well adjusted, contributing members of society and I don't have any ill will toward my parents because they chose to work and make a happy life for the family.

Bottom line is to do what YOU feel is best for not only baby and family, but for yourself too! I'll return to work after we have the twins, but only very part-time. Being Canadian we get a substantial paid maternity leave (1 year at 55%, but my employer tops us up to 84%) so I won't be returning to work until after my mat leave is up. All that being said, I hate my job so taking a year off is definately the right thing for me!

I don't listen to people's unsolicited advice anymore. I didn't regarding the wedding and certainly won't regarding the kids! Whatever decision you make will be the right one for you and the fam! Everyone else can suck it!

I couldnt agree more! Both of my parents worked full time growing up and there is nothing wrong with that, Im perfectly normal (I think!). People need to learn to keep their opinions to themselves. Its not their child your raising its yours!
D and I will def have to work full time.. unless we hit the lotto and I find nothing wrong with it whatsoever. We actually have the perfect schedules right now to do so.. we work the exact opposite shifts. So one of us would always be home.

Hey ladies...

Once again it has been forever since I posted! I am looking for your opinions... I am due in a couple weeks with my second girl and can't decide on a name. My first child is Jada Marie- who is 17 months. The names we have as of right now for this baby are:

Jenna Elizabeth

Kendra Elizabeth

But we can't settle on one! What do you think of them/ which one do you like besthuh.gif Thanks for your help!

Congratulations Shea!! That's so exciting to hear! How is Jada doing? Getting big!

I personally like Kendra, then Mya, then Jenna. I like Jada and Kendra together.

A lot of people travel while pregnant, and honestly, it's probably even safer because you aren't drinking the pretty mixed drinks with the water and ice cubes.

Just drink the bottled water that comes in your room safe and you should be good.

How far along are you?

Thanks you! I am very excited.. and ready to have this baby! Jada is doing wonderful- she is such a joy. I am excited to give her a sister!
She is gettting big- although she has always been big. She is in the 100th+ percentile for her height. (and weighed 9lbs. 14 oz. when born)
I am just struggling with getting things ready this time around. I have the nursery painted and bedding bought, but now am second guessing it all and have new stuff ordered where I will have to repaint! I did do this with Jada too! Oh, gotta love the hormones! (I think it's the hormones :))
We are having a hard time with names... that's why I came back to the board. I just can't settle on anything and I feel like I am running out of time. I only have 3-4 weeks to decide!

Congrats on your new addition Shea! When are you due?

I can't believe I'm planning my son's first birthday party already! Where does time go? He's so active right now and I'm exhausted chasing after him, but other than that I'm really loving this age. Pregnancy is going good. She just started kicking me a lot which is good because I forget I'm pregnant a lot of the times. It's sad when people ask me how far along I am and I have no clue. Reality is with your second pregnancy you have no time to really be pregnant! I've already started on her room and I'm really excited to see everything completed.

How's everyone else feeling?

I am due August 7th, but we are thinking of inducing a week early. I have an ultrasound this week to measure the baby and see if we should, or just wait and go naturally. I am scared of that since Jada was a week late. sad.gif
The second preganancy is much different.... I don't think about it 24/7 like i did the first, and it just flew by! Which is a good and bad thing. I am just trying to enjoy my time now while it is just us and Jada since I know things are going to be extra busy soon!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
