Ever been to The Hilton?

I have to decide between two outdoor locations for my reception. There is the Sun Fun Hut that over looks the ocean or the Dolphin Terrace which is next to a pool.

Which? The ocean view sounds lovely, but the picture of the Dolphin Terrace is gorgeous.

Has anyone seen them both?

We hung out at the Hilton one day of our honeymoon and I thought I remembered seeing the Whale Watching Terrace which is like one level below the pool and closer to the beach. Is that an option? I wasn't totally paying attention so I could be wrong though....but I think I saw them setting up an event there and I remember thinking it was perfect for a wedding.

I have seen both - both have an ocean view but the terrace sits higher and close to the hotel structure - the other is further away from thev builings of the hotel. How many people are you having? Dinner and dancing? Both are great but I need more info to give you an honnest opinionsmile78.gif

I have been to Hilton too! My ceremony and cocktail reception are on the sand and the reception at the Sun Fun Hut (We are having 40-50 guests). They are both nice but it depends on what you are looking for. The Sun Fun Hut is off to the side away from the main pool. There is a pool by the Sun Fun Hut but it is closed when weddings are in progress...at least the two weddings I witnessed while I was there...they closed down the area.

The wedding reception I did see at the Dolphin Terrace is right below the main pool. They do not close the main pool and there are alot of lookie-lu's hanging over the edge of the infinity pool. The Dolphin Terrace is the middle of the hotel grounds..kind of.

They both have great views.

I've stayed there a few times (love it there, btw - you're going to be so happy with your choice).

Please make sure that they verify that the location that you are selecting will be closed to the public. There is an area that is just below the pool. It's really pretty and i loved the idea of the sound of the water coming over the pool. However, they wouldn't close the area off and it's adjacent to the mail beach access path so people would be walking by and people would still be in the pool right next to where you and your guests.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
