Hello everyone i am new to the site .smile159.gif smile29.gif . we're having oour wedding Dec 29th in Punta Cana Dominican Republic. not sure yet which resort to go with but so far Sunscape The Beach is #1 if anyone has any testimonials/reviews from this hotel they are appreciated

Welcome! I think there are a couple of DR brides here, they will probably be better able to assist you with location questions than I will. But let me know if there's anything else I can help with, you'll find a lot of helpful information here, on many different topics!

welcome3.gif punta cana is so beautiful i love it there....i actually stayed at sunscape the beach in dec 2005 let me know if u want 2 see pics and need any help...just to let u know i went when the resort first opened so im sure a lot of the things have improved since than

 

The hotel itself is AMAZING!!!!! its stunning the rooms are nice ( we had a swim out room) they had an amazing japanese restaurant there the food was so yummy

 

the beach was perfect, the pool was a lazy river that went throughout the entire resort...it was a great vacation overall

I just joined earlier this month and just started planning our wedding. I am pretty sure we are going to be staying and marrying at Excellence Punta Cana. We will have to keep in touch and share ideas! Are you planning on marrying in the states before you go or right after you get home? We are discussing the idea.

 

Trip advisor is a good place for resort topics. If you type Punta Cana in the big search bar when you first open the site, and the click forums on the top right, you will get a boatload of info. Just remember some members there are biased to some resorts.

 

We looked at Sunscape, but like Excellence because it is adult only and their wedding package was pretty good. Let me know if you need more info on anything!!

I love the Dominican Republic.... we stayed at the Bahia while we were there. Its nice, but not too fancy. If you want pictures let me know.

 

The only thing you need to keep in mind is the airport, its literally a hut. So when you fly in you taxi on the runway and go down a steep ramp of stairs upon which they herd you into buses (little to no seats) to get to the main entrace of the hut. So if you have any elderly people traveling or in a wheelchair its not the most comfortable airport. We were going to do our wedding there (still debating) but my FI's sister is in a wheelchair so I'm not sure if they have a procedure to accomidate her.

Hey, just saw this post now. I also stayed at Sunscape the Beach, and I went for a wedding. I was a BM in that wedding, so I know all the things that happened and have some tips for you. So, let me know what you want to know and if you want pics, I have lots of the wedding.

      Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010.       Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations.
