Worst gift ever..

I would have loved a Waffle Iron. I put one on our gift registry but we didn't get one. But I guess one person's garbage is another person's treasure!! I returned the Deep Fryer we got and some people were stunned. But it was really just asking for trouble. You wouldn't believe the things my hubby and his friends wanted to test out!!!

These are some great stories.  I don't think I can top anyone's but I'd love to vent anyway.

Just 2 weeks before this past Christmas, the owner (of the place I manage) and I got in a huge argument (1st time ever) which I have still been thinking about quitting over.  SO for Christmas, she gets me 2 pictures that are replicas of pictures hanging at work?!

Really!  Does anyone want to bring home decor to replicate your work?  I can't wait to find someone else to pass this "treasure" onto.

My husband's brother and his wife(who we are not very close with) gave us a pair of superman pj's, a hair turban(you know the towel that you wrap around your wet hair on those infomercials!), edible body oil and a vibrating sex toy for Christmas. Nice combo!!  It was so gross we threw it all out! Thank goodness we live in a different city and didn't have to open it in front of anyone!

Also that Christams we got a chunk of sheet metal that my MIL painted a dragon intertwined with a topless red headed woman...I think it was meant to go outside because she had a note on it that said "varnish every year to protect from the elements"!!  What do you say to that?!  "Thanks MIL for the soft core porn painting, it will look great in my garden!?"  wtf.gif

The great thing about that one is we regifted it in our annual "regifting party" and it has been passed around our friends for 3 Christmas's now!! Everyone gets a laugh at it! LOL!!!!

Yes, this is the family I married into!!!

Last summer i received a gift from my great aunt. it was a used pair of white leather keds! she was going to try to sell them (yes you read that correctly), then she reallized we wear the same size!  She was really excited to give them to me.  i know she had good intentions and was trying to be nice (bless her heart!).  I felt too bad to just toss them out, so they are my gardening shoes, lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
