I have really sensitive skin and can only use the good stuff, not that cheep perfumy crap. (I also think it's a little impersonel, like a candle). Anyway, I "joking" made fun of his lame gift and it came back to bite me in the butt.
We went to his parentâ€s house later that morning and guess what his whole family got me? Yep, bath sets. Then we went to my families for dinner, and guess what everyone got me? Bath sets. I had this massive box from my brother so I saved it for last thinking I would get one good thing. Nope, it was the biggest bath set Iâ€ve ever seen. My FI called it karma for making fun of his gift, but I literally got nothing but bath sets for Christmas. I have no idea where to put this stuff or how long I have to keep it for but Iâ€ve got like 15 separate stinky sets. I will never be unappreciative of a gift again!!!
When is it ok to throw away a gift? 4 monthshuh.gif

re-gift, suggest you have a white elephant gift exchange next time you have a work gift exchange and bring one each time!

Tammy, you're a genius. You come up with the best threads ever!

My worst gift: A litter box Pooper Scooper for my 13th birthday. The previous one had broken in two, so I had the ongoing excuse that I couldn't do the kitty littler without a pooper scooper. So, on my bday my parents gave me a pooper scooper and told me I had to do the kitty litter before I got the rest of my presents!!

this isnt my worst gift, i will have to think about my own but my FSIL for christmas this year received quite the doozy.

their rich aunt gave her a set of 6 body butters - doesnt sound so bad yet but just wait.... so first, theres a sticker on the back of the packaging that says "SAMPLE NOT FOR SALE". 1st strike, because she knows it was re re-gifted. then she opens up the package, opens the body butters, and each of the containers is totally empty, LITERALLY NOTHING INSIDE! so not only did she get a twice regifted present from a rich aunt who couldve afforded to at least give her cash instead of a piss-poor regift, there wasnt any GIFT even in the regift box! she was sooooo pissed. my FMIL called her brother the next day and was like do you know what your wife gave my daughter for christmashuh.gif?
I was thinking of something similar. My aunt, who sold Avon, gave me mom a half-used bottle of lotion for her birthday! Not only was it one of her samples (which she was notorious for giving away) but it was open and used!

She thought well she didn't have to do that.....then she saw another check inside the card...........for Ryan for $20! In our first apartment I had these 2 vintage travel posters in the living room...they were framed nice and they looked really good with our black leather couches and whatever else (I had seen them in a model home and loved the way they looked so I hunted them down for myself)...

Anyways, SIL thought we were going for a "safari" theme and bought us these lovely lamps (and by lovely I mean I threw up in my mouth when I saw them). They're so ugly I can't even find a picture online...but they resembled this;

but with burgundy lamp shades and a nice big gold plaque on the front of each one that said "Venus Collection".

Needless to say they accidentally (and by accidentally I mean I threw them on the floor a few times...hard) got damaged during a move :)

Mine came this last Christmas. The package was from my FMIL (who I love and get along great with) and she knows my taste pretty well so I was excited to open the package. Well, package number one I open....and I see this beautiful sweatshirt in a gorgeous color. I pull the sweatshirt out and there it is...My FI's picture enlarged covering the entire front of the sweatshirt....and in puffy paint it says 'He's all mine!'! hahahahahahaha I am just thankful that they weren't there when we opened the gifts...cuz I laughed soooooo hard. Thought it was a prank almost....til I opened box two....once again....a beautiful sweatshirt in a gorgeous color. This time, the enlarged photo was a picture of the three of us (FI, Myself and my soon to be step daughter) with writing in puffy paint.

I have them both in a drawer.....waiting the appropriate time that I can maybe turn them into throw pillows or something. My step daughter teases me weekly still asking when I'm gonna wear them!!! I don't know if I could wear them around the house without laughing the entire time!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
