Worst gift ever..

I seriously laughed outloud reading this thread. I dont' know why but 2 of my coworkers got me pretty bad wedding gifts - one got a really crappy "granny" set from VS which luckily has a gift receipt so I can return it. it is the least sexy outfit ever! The 2nd lady gave us this tray that has crab legs on the sides where the handles should be. She was very excited to give it to me as well so I don't get it but it's really ugly. I'm not sure if it's real silver (doubt it) but my FI suggested that if it is, we melt it into smth else :) I will post pics of it since I still have no clue what to do with it so it's sitting in a box.

These are all so funny!!! Not as funny as being asked by my then husband to go to this store as there was something for me to pickup. I thought: "a surprise for me". He gives me the address. It's a bakery. The baker hands me a birthday cake. I looked at the cake and couldn't believe it. The baker looks at me and asked what was wrong. Not only had my birthday come and gone for a week, but he made me pickup my own birthday cake!!! She said that was a case for divorce! She must have been psychic! My present was a reading from a psychic...LOL

Every single year for birthday or Christmas, my FMIL gives me the same thing - $100. So this year, 3 months before the wedding, when we really need the cash, she gives me some sticky roller broom thingy that you can wash and reuse and $75. When I opened it, everyone was looking all confused and kept asking me did you ask for that?? Um, no, I guess my FMIL is trying to tell me my house isn't clean enough. I suppose its the thought that counts but I just can't figure out what the thought was.

I received an engraved crystal cross from my aunt and uncle one Christmas...not that I'm not religious or spiritual but it was so random and clearly a re-gift. This thing weighed like 10 pounds. What are you suppose to do with something like that? So I gave it to my mom who has a re-gifting party with her friends every year after Christmas.

This is a great thread! Keep them coming! Here's my worst gift: When we got engaged my mom's friend gave us the creepiest gift! She is a great lady who always gives us very generous and lovely gifts. She gave us a statue of two hands, one putting a ring on the other, like during a proposal. I get the symbolism seeing as we just got engaged, but really, the floating hands are just creepy. We've been storing it on top of a bookcase in case she comes over and wants to see it. My mom thought it was great, I don't get it. But here's a photo, what do you think??

Omigod, I laughed so hard when I saw this. What a creepy little statue! Yikes. What was she thinking when she bought that? "Wow...I really think these bronzed floating hands will look GREAT in Jenn's place."

That reminds me of the Office Christmas episode where Phyllis made Michael an oven mitt, and he hated it so much, he turned the gift exchange into yankee swap. lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
