Getting Married in Cuba

So, I do not think there are any other Cuba brides out there, but if there are, please drop me a line and we can chat. I have not picked a resort yet, but I am pretty sure its going to be in Holguin. I am thinking Playa Pesquaro. Any help in making up my mind would be great.

Jules, I am from the US and obviously only know bad things about Cuba, however my only advice would be that with Fidel possibly being very sick, a change in power might interupt some services there, consider the political state of the country. But otherwise I am jealous, Edyta's pictures of her trip there looked so fun I bet you will have a blast, and us American girls don't even have that option.

I love Cuba, so its a good choice, not my first, but a good one.

I am not worried about what would happen with Castro, they need tourists, they are a poor country, so, they would never let anything happen to that industry. Thanks for the words of advice though, I will ask my TA about what would happen should anything go wrong.

Jules, I think that my concern is only coming from the fact that we in the US really only know one side of the story, however I would have a conversation with your TA about it. Otherwise I think they will still have tourists coming in and the resorts shouldn't be that different.

Have you seen Dirty Dancing Havana Nights? Its super cheezy, but they have a lot of great scenery and history of the whole fidel thing and why the US had to get out.

No, I never saw that movie, because it looked so cheesy. lol

I don't even really know what happened, that is bad, I know, I should look it up. And, I know you guys only know one side, that is what your government wants, lol, the way of the world. But, it really is a beautiful place and I loved it both times I went there, so, I am sure I will love it again. This place, Holguin, looks a lot nicer. I hope I am right.

Holguin is a relatively new resort location, I think about 4 years. So, its newer and a little less travelled. I like that.

I will show pictures of the resort when I find some, they don't really have a website for the resort, at least I have not found one yet. From what I have seen, and the reviews though, it sounds and looks great.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
