Getting Married in Cuba

She is getting married February 20th. PRDO can be somewhat expensive but it is well worth it. What price range are you looking at for your guests? We don't have any pics from our friend's wedding in Cuba at PRDO because our camera died while we were there but it was a beautiful wedding. I wouldn't recommend going any lower than a 3.5* resort though. OGPT has a whole kids section and we chose this resort instead of an adult one in another part of the country in case our niece and nephew or a few of my younger cousins decided to come. Good luck making your choice, it's not easy at all.

-I ate at the Italian, Chinese, Cuban & Seafood restaurant. The Italian restaurant was the worst, me & my FI walked out after the appetizer to eat at the buffet. The Chinese restaurant was good, no complaints. The Cuban restaurant was my favorite for both the food and ambiance. The restuarant is outside in a little court yard. I don't remember the seafood restaurant but I remember that ambiance was nice as well.
-lots of pools. we mostly hung out by the one with the waterfall. at the top of the waterfall the water is a bit deeper. I'm 5'1 (shorty!) and not really a swimmer. I had to tippy toe to get to the swimm up bar. Unfortunatly, there was a problem with the pool heaters the week we were there but the water was still warm and cooling at the same time.
-there were lots of families there so I'm sure your guests with kids will have lots to do.
-lots of stairs. bring comfortable shoes.
-the beach was beautiful but rocky. In the morning me and my FI would walk along the beach to pick up some shells...aww the memories!
-after dinner me and FI would hang out at the 24hr bar. they have really good cappaccinos! it was a good way to start a night of partying!
-if you don't want to go into town usually once a week or more some vendors will set up shop on the resort for you or your guests to do their shopping.

Ok, sorry so long. I guess I remember more than I thought. If you want to know more just let me know. I am more than happy to help.

Aimee

Thanks Aimee.

I hate the idea of a rocky beach though, because we want to get married on the beach, so, maybe I should not be looking at this resort. Did you see any weddings when you were there?

The one we are thinking of, Playa Pesquero, is a 4.5 star, I woul not want to go lower than a 4. Not for my wedding.

whoops! Don't get me wrong Julie, the beach was sandy but once you get further out (ie. to collect shells!) it gets rocky. There were still lots ob people & activity on the beach. In fact, me and FI were at the beach everday to take advantage of our free water activities. We were on the catamaran everday!

I actually didn't see any weddings while I was there, sorry. Where do they do receptions? I think the seafood restaurant looked nice b/c it looked into the beach.

I can't remember, I will have to look at PT again to see what it is. I may be being over cautious, but I don't want to chance anything. :)

Have any of you looked at Cayo Cocco Cuba. There really isnt much to do off the resort b/c its sort of an isolated island in cuba, but the beach are absolutly amazing. They have white sand and cystal clear blue water. Most of the resorts in this area are amazing. We stayed at club Guilermio, but there are some other really nice ones

I looked into Cayo Coco and that was my second choice for a Cuba location, but I love Holguin and have heard great things about it. Also, I now know 2 people who stayed at my resort and loved it and said it was beautiful, so I am excited about my choice. BTW, every where I looked said my resort was either 4.5 or 5 stars, someone before said it was 4 or 4.5, I just wanted to correct that.

If anyone wants info on my resort, I have lots so far. Those of you who don't know where they want to go, go to trip advisor and type in Cuba weddings, there is lots and lots of information.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
