2007 and Jan/Feb 2008 Riu Ocho Rios Brides - when did you receive your certificate?

    We got married March 13, 2008 and still have not gotten our "million dollar check" It's killing me. I want to get this name change on the move!!!

      this may qualify as a dumb question, but do we have to "do something" to let the US gov't know that we are officially/legally married or does all that happen when we file for a name change? When my sis got married here a few years ago her pastor took the certificate they signed and filed it with the county. Guess I should have looked into all this before the wedding- lol- oops!

        I did read (I think on the US goverment travel website) that they recommend you take a copy of your wedding certificate to your local county. That way there is always a copy on file for you.

            We got our official wedding certificates in the mail yesterday! Just short of 2 months. Only thing is, they spelled 12th wrong... wonder if that matters?

              We got married april 22th and we just received our wedding certificate yesterday. I'm so excited...it feel more real. Now I can start the process to change my name. DOes it have any tread on changing name (in canada)
