Hey girls

I am trying to get my budget organised - eck!!!!

Anyway, can anyone give me an idea of the costs involved in getting all our documents translated and prepared for the wedding in Mexico?

I know there are companies who can do it for you, but if it saves alot of money, i'd rather take the hassle on myself!

Any help would be appreciated!

Fiona

Hi There,

Congratulations !!

I'm from Nottingham amd I'm getting married @ Dreams resort and spa Cancun on November 12th 2009. Our wedding co ordinator has told me that They do the translation of the birth cirtificates and wedding cirtificates over there, we just need to have our past port (which we need anyway) and a tourest card which you get from the air port, they do the blood tests in your room the day before the wedding, this was a gray area for me for a while as I know some brides have got their birth cirtificates appostleld before they travel but I've been told this is not necessary, I hope this helps ?

Hello - welcome to the forum!

I am from the UK and getting married at EDR 6 weeks today!!

If it helps, all I have done is get the birth certificates apositled (?) cost me around £80 and that is it, the rest happens in resort ie. blood test and tourist cards.

I heard conflicting info on the apositile seal so I just got in case! I dont think I need it. Best to check with your wedding coordinator!

Good luck with your plans xx

I'm still in the early stages of planning myself, but this site has been so helpful and things are becoming clear. I don't have anything to offer right now, but I am also living in the UK (England), in Nottingham specifically, so please post info as it comes. Thanks!

Hi everyone

I am getting married at the moon palace next year July. I have booked with Virgin holidays and through their wedding department.

I am not sure how many people we have coming to mexico yet.

In may I should find out the exact date for our wedding.

I am going to book the top package most prob with the hotel, it depends on what virgins packages offer, their new packages are out on the 22nd may 08. I actually think the hotel would be cheaper.

I am trying to get most of my guests to stay at the Moon palace. otherwise we would have to pay out for guest passes, as well as having a private cocktail party and private dinner and dance.

This would cost a fortune. It would cost roughly £80 for every guest who is not staing at the moon palace. That price includes the day guest pass, cocktail party and private dinner and dance.

What has everyone else planned to do after the wedding

Hi Annouska!

We have asked everyone to stay at the Moon Palace with us - so its just like a big family holiday! Luckily everyone has been really up for it! The good thing about Moon Palace is its soo big that if people do want to get away from everyone, they can!

We weren't going to go for the private reception after the ceremony, because we were going to have a party when we come back. So we were just going to take advantage of the reservations at one of the restaurants that is included in the wedding package. But soo many people have said they will come now, that we have decided the least we can do is get a good party on the go for them! So we are hoping to get a 3, 4 or 5pm wedding slot, then get some photos taken while everyone has some champagne, then the private reception area will be where we will all party at night! I think you pay for the staff the longer you have them, but we'll work that out nearer the time. We will take our ipods with us to make it a right good party!! :)

For your apostiled birth certificates its easy, especially if you were born in Scotland. You apply to the Central office for a copy of your birth certificate, if you go to the website for the area you were born it'll direct you straight there, and it comes with the apostile on it lol

My FI was born in galashiels it cost me £13 and it came with it already on so all I have to do is send mine away which will cost a lot more lol

Just remember take copies of everything, do not give them the originals you won't get them back so copies is the easiest way.

I think the rest you've already been given the info for. If i can help with anything else let me know because I'm not that far away from Scotland lol

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
