Planning Question

Ok...I am beginning to get a little frustrated! I am getting married at the Grand Oasis in Cancun in August and the wedding coordinator keeps telling me that everything is planned once you get there as well as my TA! Does this sound righthuh.gif?? It seems that they need to have info of exactly what you want before arriving incase it takes extra time for something you want!!! Can anyone tell me what all they waited to plan upon arrival and what should already be planned by the time you get therehuh.gif

Help! Am I just anxious or should I be mad?

It's frustrating, but it sounds normal. Moon Palace does the same thing (except they book the ceremony early). Since there's the three day residency law in Mexico, there's a few days between when you get there and when your wedding is. Plus, they do so many weddings that they probably have it down to an art.

If anything tell them you need prices and stuff in advance for budgeting reasons and see if that works.

Good Luck!

Yeah my wedder planner had said the same thing. Yes plans will be finalized upon arrival, but I think you at least want to see the menu choices, flower choices (and price lists), location choices for ceremony/reception. I choice my reception venu months before, time of ceremony, especially if other brides are getting married on your day. You want to know your options for music and prices as well. Ask what their table arrangements are going to be like. so you can plan centre pieces, find out if they have candles, and do you like them, colour of lineans, there is so much to know before hand so that you can budget properly nad know what you need to bring down on you end. Come up with a list of questions and ask her to answer and follow through with the info on the details you are enquiring about. Good luck

We aren't finalizing details until we get there. but we have looked over reception packages and know how much extra per person, and menus and she can send us flower pics if we want..etc...

So while nothing is set in stone until right before, they can definetly send you info about what they do offer so you can start to decide now and plan what extra you need to bring or look at outside vendors for.

Hope that helps.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
