How does someone heavy like me, try to get half way decent photos?? I went for my fitting on my dress today, it's a bridesmaid dress and I absolutely love it, but I look like a short and stumpy cow!! Mooove over. When I was looking at myself in the mirror I didn't think I looked all that bad, not good, but not bad but when I looked at my picture on my pc, I look like a cow, plain and simple. I am short to begin with, now I am doubting the dress that I got. I think it makes me look too big. I am in deep trouble. I don't know what to do. I don't want to look like a cow when I have my vow renewal ceremony. I even had spanx on. This is just how my past week has been going. One bad thing after another. Sorry for venting. All you brides are supposed to be happy and carefree and this old married lady is worried about looking like a cow. LOL

Thanks for letting me vent.

Hi Denise, Im really sorry you're having a bad day. You are not alone, the thing is, MOST girls want to look smaller than they really are. So thats a photographers job and there are plenty of things a photog can do to help.

Im not about to tell your photog how to do his job, but Im sure he or she will make you look great.

I agree a good photographer will help you feel and look beautiful, I am sure however you do not look like a cow, we are always so hard on ourselves.

Also you are only as old as you feel, I am 40 in a couple of months, and the mother of 4 kids one who is 20, and I have decided to embrace my age. With age comes knowledge, and a sense of purpose.

Post a picture so we can tell you how beautiful that I am sure you are.

I can't believe I am going to post this picture of me. It is so embarrassing. I appreciate all of the nice words you had to say, but you will wish you didn't say them. You are right, I don't look like a cow, they are cute. I look like a pumpkin. LOL. On the serious side, I need to get taller heels and I am also looking for another dress. Here goes nothing.

Why are you going to get another dress? Your dress is really pretty and honestly you don't look fat, you completely have a figure in it. The way the dress falls from under the bustline is flattering, and the colour is pretty it will look beautiful on a beach. I think you should put a simple thin Y necklace that falls down towards your clevege, and your heals are high enough you have great legs so you don't need higher. You are wayyy too hard on yourself.

I honestly think the dress looks really good on you!! I wouldn't lie to you. I think you just need to add a necklace that draws the eye downward, it will create a longer line and make you appear long and lean. I hate that my stomach isn't flat so I always take pics at a diagonal angle. I don't know if its really slimming or not, but it makes me feel like it looks better smile78.gif

I second that!
I don't know what I was expecting to see in your pic, but it definately wasn't what we see! You look gorgeous in the dress! The style is very flattering & the colour is beautiful on you!! We all have our days where we feel pretty shitty, but trust us when we tell you that you look good! :)

hi:) i just did a google search with these words "body shapes for dresses" and a bunch of stuff came up.

also, for more flattering pics for any shape or size, its always good to get the photographer above you for some pics to avoid double chin and try to avoid standing head on toward the camera for all portraits because that can make anyone look wider...try to do an "s" shape with your body for some pics. also, if anyone is ever self conscious about their arms, a scarf or some sort of flowing material helps if you wrap around yourself and it can look very beachy too and you can get pics with it blowing in the wind and stuff for more creative romantic pics.

i hope that helps...just make sure you really look into eachothers eyes and try to feel and act on all the love because that will really stand out in the pics over any physical stuff:)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
