ketubah - city/state for marriage

Recommended Posts

I'm getting a Ketubah (Jewish marriage contract) and it asks for the city and state where I'm getting married - I'm not sure what to put on it since Al Cielo doesn't seem to be in a specific town? Does anyone know the area better than me in order to provide more info? It is on Xpu Ha Beach, next to Esencia...

Or I could put:

Riviera Maya, Mexico

Riviera Maya, Quintana Roo, Mexico

Xpu Ha Beach, Riviera Maya, Mexico

Xpu Ha Beach, Quintana Roo, Mexico

??

Obviously I checked the website, it just wasn't very clear - maybe it is Solidaridad?

Al Cielo

Carretera Federal Cancun-Tulum KM 118

Xpu-Ha Beach 1.5

CP 77710 (Riviera Maya)

Solidaridad, Quintana Roo

Mexico

I'm getting legally married in Los Angeles, but want my symbolic contact to be accurate for what I'm counting as my real wedding day :).

OK, yes, you should put: Solidaridad as city, Quintana Roo as state, Mexico as country then.

Might be worth checking with your WC to see whether she says Solidaridad or Xpu Ha. I might be tempted to say: Xpu Ha, Quintana Roo, Mexico. (We're saying Tulum, Quintana Roo, Mexico in ours.)

Speaking of, which design did you end up going with?

Funny thing - it turns out that the newketubah.com owner/artist is my friend's best friend from high school. I didn't get a discount or anything, but she is fitting me in even though I'm so last minute (with a rush fee), and I figured a friend of a friend business is a good thing. We're going with the tree, and the secular text. I'm putting the order in tomorrow. What about you? May I mention you to her too?

That IS odd. But a nice coincidence! I was hoping you went with them, as the design of it seems sorta your style. (At least, from what I've gathered on here, lol.)

I actually posted the link to newketubah.com on here a few months ago -- I really like her stuff! Thanks for the offer, but we're already using her! I've already been in touch with the artist (Tsilli), and she's helping us put together a slightly more custom piece, sort of a cross between a ketubah and a Quaker wedding certificate, with space for all our guests to sign. =)

We're going with the birds design, as I've always liked birds and --after dating me for six years -- the boy has fallen in love with my little parrot and become a bit of a bird person, too. lol.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
