We had the best time at Sandals Grande for our wedding/honeymoon.  I'm working on a full review, but I wanted to post some pics in the meantime.  If you want a low-stress wedding and gorgeous spot for a vacation, then this is the place.  Everything was absolutely perfect.

Thanks for the review LilyRose! I also founf Mikael Lamber and am interested in hiring him. I am glad to hear you had a good experience. Sandals is pretty nuts about outside photographers and I haven't decided yet if I want to take on that drama, but I at least am thinking of doing a TTD session with him. Did you do one? Any input on him would be really appreciated as I am anxious to move forward with a photographer. And by the way, you and your wedding look gorgeous. Congratulations and I can't wait to officially join the St Lucia brides club :)

Hi Stlucia bound,

Congrats and welcome on the St.Lucia's page!

I am so glad about Mikael!  I received my pictures today, they were sent out form St.Lucia yesterday!  Awesome! I do have 3 full CD of high resolution pictures! 1225 pictures total for my 5 hours package!

The service Mikael and Julie (his wife) are giving is amazing.  I always had an answer-email within few hours, even on weekends.

Mikael did photograph before the ceremony (getting ready), the ceremony and the after ceremony-cocktail hour.  We did not went with a trash the dress (we don't have that in our french culture) but I know he is doing that a lot!  You can go on his website to see all his previous work.

A lot of brides getting married at Sandals do not choose the photographer provided because is it too expensive.  If you ask Mikael, I am pretty sure he will bring you somewhere outside the resort so you do not have to worry about extra fees for Sandals.  Write to him and Julie will tell you what is the best option.  Good luck with the planning! Keep us updated on your decision!

LilyRose

Hi!  I am recently engaged and looking into a St. Lucia wedding!  I am super excited and still trying to figure things out and want to thank you all in advance for all the ideas and advice! I contacted a travel agent-- which was no help and is only making this decision harder.  If anyone has any tips on just getting started I would love to hear them!!!!

Hi britmitros,

I'm getting married at the Windjammer Landing in St. Lucia next June.  When I started planning I thought the best thing was to go through a travel agent, but I also got no help from the travel agent I met with.  I have planned everything myself with the wedding cordinator at our resort.  You really don't need a travel agent!!  Good luck with your planning!!

Hello St. Lucia brides :)

I'm getting married on May 9, 2012 at the Jalouise Plantation.  Can't wait!!! So much to think about....

Today's question:  Does anyone have any recommendations for hair and makeup in St. Lucia.  Someone that would travel to me would be great.

Thanks!

Hi britmitros! Congratulations! I had a destination wedding last year in Mexico but honeymooned in St. Lucia. Have you ever been to St. Lucia? Do you know which hotel/resort you'd like to be married at? Keep in mind that St. Lucia has two different airports as well when you're booked your hotel. After you choose the hote, I would suggest getting your STD (Save the Dates) out months in advance (I sent mine out 9 months in advance but some have sent them closer to the date). It may seem overwhelming at times but a destination wedding is incredible. If you have any specific questions please let me know :)

Hi nicc80! Congratulations on your upcoming wedding :)

I had my honeymoon last year in St. Lucia! I would say the beaches as a whole do not disappoint but it can really depend on which hotel/villa you choose. We honeymooned at Calabash Cove and the beach there was more like well...a cove. It was about a 10 minute cab ride to the Rodney Bay area which had MUCH better beaches. Going back to St Lucia I would definitely stay in either Rodney Bay or if looking for a splurge, Jade Mountain or Anse Chastanet. I can tell you it was absolutely buggy but you will have that with most islands. Lots of bug spray is a must no matter where you go!

I didn't go inside of the Windjammer but we dropped some honeymooners off after our ziplining tour and it looks gorgeous! Best of luck with the planning and if you have any other questions about St. Lucia, feel free to ask!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
