We are getting married at the Windjammer landing in Castries on 08-09-10. We just got back last Saturday from visiting and meeting with our wedding coordinators and they are GREAT! We choose the Windjammer because we wanted an all-inclusive resort that would let kids stay there. We absolutely love the island it is so beautiful and the people are so nice.We will stay at Jade Mountain for the last half of our stay.

Hi Everyone!

I am new here on this forum! I'm glad I found one for St. Lucia.

Me and my fiance will be getting married on December 4, 2010 and we still have tons to plan. I plan to have around 50-70 guests, a lot for a destination wedding I know, but my invitation list is at 160.

We are having a church ceremony at the Basilica of Immaculate Conception. Does anyone know how that church looks or anything about the church?

As for the reception and lodging sites, I'm not sure yet. Everything is really up in the air. I'm open to villa's and AI resorts, but I need them to allow all ages as we will have children coming.

I am also looking for a wedding planner, does anyone have any suggestions for good a good wedding planner? I have just sent out a couple of inquiries but any suggestions would be awesome!

Another initial concern that I have is that one of my friends will be baking my wedding cake, does anyone know if we can rent a kitchen or if we should just make sure our accomodations have a kitchen we can use?

I have about a billion thoughts running through my head, so any suggestions are much appreciated. Thank ahead of time!

Leah

Hi Ladies!

I am new to the forum. I am trying to pick a place and set a date. I was interested in St. Lucia, and after reading all of your comments I am convienced! We have a small budget and a small wedding (10-15 guests). I am leaning towards an an AI for the wedding (sandals?), because I think the guests would like a vaction like that and I like the free wedding package. However, I would love to experience more of St. Lucia (food, people), and I am thinking of possibly going somewhere else for a honeymoon that is away from the family. Any suggestions or thoughts you have would be great! Is Sandals far from local restaurants and towns?

Hi fellow St. Lucia brides! Hope everyone had a fabulous holiday.

Opinion on time lines for sending out STDs and formal invites needed. My wedding is set for Nov. 27, 2010. Planning on sending out the STDs mid Jan, formal invites in June and requesting RSVPs by end of July. My mom and my sis want me to send out the invites in early May and my fiancee wants me to give guests a month a half to RSVP.. . .

Any thoughts and opinions would be greatly appreciated!

There are actually 3 Sandals in St. Lucia- Sandals Regency ( large property, more active and higher energy) and Sandals Halcyon ( smaller, more boutique, and intimate. Very lush as it's an older property-although the rooms are all being rennovated- but the grounds are stunning with flowers and trees. This is also the least expensive ) are the two Sandals that are closest to town . Sandals Grande has a more "modern" feel to the property but is located trhe farthest outside of town.

With SandalsSt. Lucia you can stay at one but play at all three -they even provide the transportation!

I was in St. Lucia this September and it was wonderful- absolutely one of my favorite islands!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
