I visited St Lucia this year and they did not seem to be too strict about luggage. They see to be more concerned if you bring foodstuff into the country. You should check with your airline to see what their restrictions are. As far as wedding planning I have not been doing much. I have to start looking for a dress and I am still working on finding a good Photographer.

Kristy, how did you end up winning your photography? That's so exciting!

We got engaged at the Almond Morgan Bay February 24, 2008. The resort is beautiful, clean, the staff were great and the food was amazing. If you are looking for a long white sand beach this is not the place. The beach is small and we didn't find the water to be crystal clear blue green - I've been to nicer beaches. There is a gazebo that is atop a hill which looks over the ocean (kinda pretty), we took some pics there after we were engaged. They do have a great kids club which has a pool, food, games room and staff supervising. Hope this helps - if you need further info I will try to be of help to you.smile124.gif

Kristi Klemens from KLK Photography and Paul Bennett from Blue Sky Videos had a contest on the forum. I submitted our story and a picture. They went through a couple of rounds figuring out who would win. In the end, they chose three of us! We were one of the lucky couples! I'm so excited to have them join usin St. Lucia.

Anyone hiring a band in St. Lucia to play at their reception? My WC recommended a group called TEN-90. She has a CD in the mail to me right now, and I cannot wait to get it.

Hey Kristy,

I am actually have the Steel Band for my cocktail hour and I was also thinking of having DJ or live band for the reception. I haven't decided yet. Let me know how the music is. Are you having live music for your ceremony. I was also thinking about that? Still trying to decide.

Still dress shoppping. I found a few I like, but I haven't pick the final one yet. I am hoping to make my deciscion by the end of this month, cause I don't have a lot of time.

Hope all your plans are going well.

Hey Velda,

I totally love Ten-90. They sound great! FI hasn't had a chance to listen to the CD yet, but I'm all ready to book them. (I won't until I discuss it with him though). They are super reasonable...only $250 an hour! There's four guys in the group. I'm so excited!

As for the ceremony, I think I will hire a solo steel drum player. So I'll have a steel drum band for our welcome BBQ, a solo steel drum player for the ceremony, and a live band (Ten-90?!) for the reception. Had we decided to keep the cocktail hour/dinner at the villa, I would've had the live band play for that too, but now we don't need that since we'll be at the restaurant.

I so wish I was in St. Lucia right now...

Hi everyone! We are planning to marry in St Lucia as well. Though we are really far behind the ballgame, I think we can still pull it off.

We are trying to do something a bit different than the resort weddings. Though some of them are quite nice, they aren't personal enough for me. I wanted to use Awesome Caribbean Weddings, but they are already booked on the date we want. So... we keep looking. I have sent messages to Tropic Isle and Dreamy Weddings, hopefully I'll hear back soon.

If any of you have any recommendations, I would love to hear them. I am also looking into the TA's on the site, seems like this is my one stop shop for everything I'll need!

Thanks!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
