Riu Palace - Pics from our trip (Jan 08)

Hey guys,

I just found my cd of pictures from our trip to the Riu Palace in January. I don't have any wedding info (we didn't even see a single wedding the entire week we were there!) but I do have some personal pictures & can give my honest opinion on the basics of the resort!

I'll just post the pics & then if anyone has any questions, just feel free to ask! If I start typing my opinion of everything I think I'll just over-share & give too much info! :)

We also did some shopping & went on a catamaran/snorkel trip so I can give my opinions on those too!

2 pics of the view from our balcony. We were lucky enough to be on the side of the hotel with the "quiet pool" which came in handy the afternoon I had a migraine & needed to nap!

Alrighty.. you asked for more, so here they are! (excuse the bikini shot!) :)

Mat & I at El Arco. We took a water taxi to Lovers Beach & the taxi guy brought us around El Arco & showed us the sea lions & explained everything about the rocks & stuff. He even took this pic for us! It was a really cool afternoon!

Sun in my eyes walking around the resort. My makeshift dress I made out of my sarong was pretty comfy!

Mat & I on the Pez Gato for the afternoon. Has a blast snorkelling, drinking & dancing to the YMCA! :)

My absolute favourite picture of Mat. He'd kill me if he found out that I posted it! He doesn't like having his picture taken so I waited til he wasn't looking & I LOVE the end result! Looks like my knight in shining cowboy hat! lol

I honestly don't have a single complaint about the resort at all! (it's actually one of our top choices for wedding locations as of now!) I have recommended it to all my friends/family.

The staff was great, food was delicious, & nothing went wrong all week. At one point someone even stole my towel & I was afraid of how much they were going to charge me (somebody has told me it could be up to $50) & they just gave me a new towel free of charge after I told them what happened!

I really loved Cabo in general too! We walked downtown along the beach one day to go shopping. Walked to WalMart one day also. Went snorkelling on an afternoon boat cruise & that was awesome too!

Hm, that's all I can think of for now. Feel free to ask any specific questions!

Thanks for posting the pics ! They are absolutely incredible , and even though I am not getting married in Cabo . Its still nice to see another Riu Palace to get an over all 'feel ' .

I have been hearing more and more things re the Riu Palaces...all of which helps to calm this bride-to-be ...especially when dealing with a future mother-in-law and aunt-in law that are convincedif they attend a wedding in Mayan Riviera , no matter how nice the hotel, they are bound to be raped , murdered and robbed ...oh , I am NOT kidding , they are convinced of this !!

Thanks again . pms.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
