If you are having a hard time and are willing to maybe have your guests travel a bit to maybe a smaller town for the ceremony. I heard that in some of the smaller towns North of San Jose on the Gulf side.. the Padres are a little more lenient and are willing to accept a little donation to do so. ie. do not require the months of talks.

You may want to check them out.
Ther problem is more with my church not the church down there, I contacted the father at the san jose church and he just gave me the info where the paper work goes...we are just going to have the wedding rites not a full out catholic ceremony..but i hope it all works out in the end, thanks for the advice

Really? I would have thought that your church would not have aproblem. That is one of the things that I really don't like about the Catholic church... how hard they make things for people. They can be worse than the IRS.

I know they make things so difficult...my priest yelled at me and they dont understand why were going away 2 get married instead of getting married at home...i just dont want a church wedding anymore but my parents insist...but my mom called up our priest and totally stood up 4 me it was pretty cool....she gave them sh*t saying that all their doing is turning people away

Good for your MOM!! MY grandma would have boxed his ears!!

It is sooo weird that they make it so hard.. and really your mom is right it just makes people not want to belong or go to church. More and more people are opting to explore other religions!

Beautiful!!! The buckets/pew decorations turned out wonderfully... one would never know that it was a last minute idea.

I think it was great and very commendable that you took your mother and grandmother's feelings into consideration. To actually have both experiences is priceless.

Congrats again and thanks for sharing your review!

I know!! Happy did an incredible job. Yes, I am VERY glad that I was able to please my family and in the end it was a wonderful and meaningful moment. It felt a little more sacred that the beach ceremony- which was fun and lighthearted. Just what I wanted.

By the way those buckets are cheap and readily available in several sizes including large oval and round. We used the larger oval size full of ice beer & wine with some flowers as decoration. Everyone loved it.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
