Oh no! May 15 was my date (14th worst case scenario), and since we were doing a civil (legal) wedding we had to be there 4 business days before which meant it HAD TO BE on a Thursday or Friday (some guests were only coming down for a long weekend). I'm screwed. I guess I can hope someone might cancel. You mentioned an afternoon available ... how many weddings do they allow per day??

Seems for you it IS for the best ... you want sunset pix and there just isn't any good vantage point for sunset pix in Cancun. West coast of Mexico is your best bet ... your pix will be gorgeous!

Okay my first reaction was that's ludicrous because I stayed there last June and there was no such thing, they didn't even allow visitors to enter the gate without a name and room number.

But those posts are very recent so maybe it is accurate? I would hope not because the private factor was a major perk of the resort/beach. Maybe a TA can shed some light on this...good luck everyone!

She just e-mailed me back this morning, she said she still has May 14 2009. You can have it, I think I'm gonna go with Dreams Puerto Vallarta, seems like less kids and out of the party town. But you better hurry before someone else gets it!thewave.gif

gaby can be hard to get a hold of. she is the only wedding coordinator, and she waitresses. keep emailing her; in fact, email daily and 'scream' thru your email until you get a respone. she's really good right before the wedding, but b/c she is SO busy, she puts you on the back burner until your date is closer. she does a lot of weddings there (one per day, max, i believe), but dreams had such a bad reputation for so long, so cancun and cabo are more popular. my review is at the bottom of my siggy - any questions, feel free - there aren't too many dreams pv brides here!

Wow she is a waitress too? How long has she been there? What was so bad with the other coordinator?thewave.gif

Thanks so much for the info! I finally got the online wedding request form to work for me (it kept telling me to fill in my name when it was already filled in!). So now she's gotten that form AND a regular email from me.

*crosses fingers*

p.s. A friend of mine just came back from Puerto Vallarta and she said it was the most stunningly beautiful place she'd ever been. Best of luck to you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
