I Need HELP!!!

Recommended Posts

Can you tell us which resort you were using to see if there is a possibility of someone knowing another suggestion?

What about leaving the resort for the wedding. An example is that MoBride got married at the Riu in Jamaica, but she took her reception to a nice Jamaican restaurant and she was EXTREMELY happy with that choice.

Is that an option for you? Have the ceremony and go elsewhere for the reception? Also, I wonder if they saw that you were seriously going elsewhere if they WOULD come down in price, evne though they say its non-negotiable.

The hotel I am booked at is the Bucuti in Aruba. Right now I am trying to get in touch with the Renaissance to see if they have my date open.

Yeah, I guess if I have no luck with booking at another hotel, I can try looking into restaurants.

Oh, and she realized that I was serious in the end b/c she started out w/ an attitude, but in the end she was appoligizing and explaining that I am not the only person this is happening to. She told me that this is the reason why they don't like discussing the menu w/ couples untl a month before. And I asked her how people could even budget for their wedding w/o knowing the menu price and she said that she has had people cancel b/c of this. So, I just said "well that's good to know" and that I don't really know what we are even doing for our wedding at this point.

But my fiancee is calling the Ren now since he can call international....I hope there is someone in the wedding dept that can let us know if the date is open

I am so sorry this really sucks! It seems like they are not going to make a concession no matter how much you threaten them. They are clearly used to people cancelling. I think your only option is to find another place or rent a villa. Can you have weddings on rental villas in Aruba? If so it might not be hard to find a venue and to find a company that can cater it.

Let us know if you need help with anything! I hope everything gets resolved. Keep us updated.

OMG, GIRLS!!!! My fiance just got off the phone w/ the WC at the Renaissance and they said that we can book there. They already put us down for that date. They have wedding all weekend but he said to call him back on Tuesday and we will finalize everything.

THANK GOD!!!!!! I don't know what I would have done. And thanks you so much for letting me vent to everyone, I think I would have exploded if I didn't have all of you girls to talk to.

I know I can't believe it either, I think I'm still in shock. My FI had to literally track him down over there and get his personal cell, but who the hell cares if we seem crazy LOL

Oh you better believe I will be letting everyone know what happened to me (but once all of the plans are finalized w/ the Ren...LOL) and to think I recommended so many people to that hotel and I though they were great.....but in the end that was the most shady shit I have ever seen. And trust me, they are very luck that I wasn't down there, I could have killed someone I was so mad!! But they will get there's and everything happens for a reason :)

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
