Hi everyone! I have ofically booked my date 8-23-08 at Cabo Azul Resort in San Jose Del Cabo. My issue is that if I have my reception at Azul it will be REALLY expensive. I found a resturant close to the resort and I could get alot more for my $$. Do resorts have issues with you having your wedding there and then a reception somewhere else?

the only issue you might have is with them wanting all your guests to stay there, otherwise they could charge you a fee for the use of the property. for example, im getting married at the westin in san jose del cabo, and if i had only had my reception there and my guests didnt stay there too, i wouldve had to pay something like $3000 for use of the facility. when i blocked rooms though, the fee was dropped and the site fee became complimentary. you should check with cabo azul about what their policy is.

We are having our wedding ceremony at the Sheraton beach and then the reception at a private house near by. The Sheraton has been great with us; we even got the site free with a room block. They have been very quick to respond to all my questions and very helpful even though we are only doing the ceremony there. I'm glad we did the room block; it ended up being so much cheaper and easier for our guests.

Hi -

From what I understand when I spoke to Sergio about this, you have to have the reception there if you are getting married there...it's one of the requirements. Let me know if I can help with any other questions..I've been in negotiation with Cabo Azul since December 07', so I have tons of information, but also tons of info I'm still waiting on.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
