I'm so sorry you are going through this right now.

As the girls have said though, I wouldn't worry about the BD stuff. Yes he was a stupid boy and broke the rules... but he will still be blown away when he sees the photos!

As for your mom, I hope things work out. You are in my thoughts!

I really hope I CAN help her, but this is not the first time this has happened. I just don't know what I CAN do. I do have my sister on board for an intervention, but I don't even know when she will be in jail before we can do that. The judge may require some kind of rehab though.

Regardless, he knew that room was off limits for a reason (wedding suprises) so im assuming he respected that. Perhaps he took a glance but nothing more. Regardless, your pics were so fabulous even if he did see them..thats probably all he will be thinking about until he receives them- thats not that bad.

In regards to your mom...im so sorry to hear about her problem. I cant even imagine the worry and stress you must be feeling about this. I wish I could offer you some suggestions or advice but I have never personally experienced a problem like that. I just think you just have to support her in this hard time of need, listen to her and be prepared for the crappy times she will be experiencing. I would def. encourage some type of rehab or support group for her and I would rely on the help of your sibblings as well. Your mom has time to face her issues before your wedding and hopefully make some better changes along the way.

If you ever need support or help were here!
Luckily, it was just the shoes and some outfits peaking out of the bag, so no pictures. That all seems like such a small issue compared to all of this with my mom. I'm not sure what will happen. This is not the first time she has been arrested, and she has been doing drugs for at least 6 years off and on...or maybe just on for all I know. More than anything I just want her to get clean.

Brittany - my parents are recovering alcoholics and users, so I know the pain that that causes. They have been clean for 17 years, but the years before that were really bad. So I know that if your mom realizes she needs help, that people can turn their lives around. The biggest step to self-improvement is the acknowledgement of a problem. My younger brother is also currently working on his rehab and has been clean for just under a year. I hope your mom finds the strength needed to move on and better her life choices. Big hugs to you, B.hug2.gif

I am very sorry to hear about your mom. I can't even imagine how stressful that is. I hope she finds the help that she needs.

As far as the shoes and sexy stuff, make him wear them! Tell him that you have decided you have always wanted to see him dressed up like a chic so you got those for him to wear on your wedding night.

Awww, Britt, sorry you are having such a bad morning. There's not much really I can say that will help your situation, but just know we are here for you! grouphug.gif

At least your FI only saw a few outfits. Dont worry, he will still be blown away by the pictures. Maybe he just thinks that is your honeymoon lingere :~) I'm sure he feels pretty bad. I second the buying a padlock idea wink.gifor is there someone elses house you would feel comfortable keeping some of your stuff at?

Let us know how things work out with your mom. hug2.gif

I have always believed things happen for a reason. Maybe this is her rock botton that she needs so she can climb her way back up. It is too bad that all this is happening soooo close to your wedding. Maybe that will add to it though and make her see (which I know is almost impossible when drugs are involved) how she is effecting everyone else. Any jail/rehab will give her alittle bit to clean up and clear her head to some degree.

About the FH. Maybe the little peek will have him all the more excited plus seeing you that upset will make him see how special and important this is too you making him all the more appreciative of what you are doing for him! Makes for a great honeymoon right??

Brittney - I am so sorry you are going through this! Hopefully FI just thinks you bought some hot little things for the wedding- I'm sure he has no idea about the pics/book you are making.

This sounds like such a tough situation with your mom. Drug addiction is such a hard thing to break - I can't even imagine what you are going through right now. Just know you are in our thoughts and we will be thinking about you!

Oh Brittney, that is so sad about your mom, I don't even know what that must be like for you but my heart just hurts for you. I completely agree, the thought of getting married without my mom there makes me want to upchuck too sad.gif

As for the BD stuff, you probably only got in a fight about it because you both are stressed out about the wedding so soon. Doug and I don't fight, and lately we've been snippity with each other a LOT. We're used to getting to spend a lot of time together, and the last 3 weeks we've both been working a ton of OT and not able to relax together as much. It makes us both grumpy sad.gif But we talked about it and since we're both aware of our stress and not being to relax together as much lately, it helped a bunch to say it out loud. Now we both watch what or how we say something so we don't fight about it.

Both things will get better, keep your chin up! And talk to us, you know we're here for you!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
