PV Wedding Coordinator Review (2 vendors)

    I got this from the Yahoo PV Brides Group I belong to - I thought it might be helpful for those that are looking for a wedding coordinator in PV.

    There are 2 planners I would highly reccomend. One is Kristin from the Dazzling Details. I met with her when I was in PV for my scouting trip, and I really loved her. She is very professional, creative, friendly and has great connections in PV. She is also fluent in Spanish, which made things immensely easier as far as visiting venues and dealing with vendors. From what I recall, the Dazzling Details fee is about $1,900. This includes coordination, staff at the event (Kristin and whomever else is needed), wedding design, suggestions for decor, food, etc. She will coordinate other events (rehearsal dinner, etc.) for an additional charge. This doesn't include things like 1) venue fee; 2) reception costs for dinner and drinks and entertainment, 3) ceremony; etc.

    I also reccomend Incredible Weddings and Events. They are the planners we are using. We were going to go with Kristin but then changed our wedding date and she was already booked for that date. She reccomended Incredible Weddings and Events, and we met with the 2 women that own it -- Tamara Bradley and Lucie Aubert. They are also very professional, friendly, and have a lot of experience doing weddings in PV. I believe they are a little less expensive than Kristin, but I can't recall the exact amount we are paying them. Here is their website: http://incrediblewe ddingsandevents. com/

    We are having a large destination wedding though -- 100-120 people. If I was doing a smaller wedding like yours, I don't know if I'd use an outside coordinator, if the hotel you like has a coordinator you can use. Just because I think there would be a lot less hassle and worry with a smaller number of guests. We're getting married at a villa, so we need to arrange transportation from the wedding hotel to the villa, get an outside caterer, etc. All of those things are too difficult for us to coordinate ourselves. But some girls on the Yahoo group are getting married at hotels in PV and using the hotel's coordinator and have been very happy.

    Also, the wedding coordinators in PV may charge a smaller fee than the #s I'm talking about, for a smaller number of guests. You might want to ask about that when you contact them. You may not need 100% coordination, which may cut down on the coordinator fee.

      Ann, Amy and all the other PV brides, are you using Dazzling Details? My father's friend's daughter just got married in PV, used them and said they did an amazing job. She kept ranting and raving about them.

        I'm expecting a proposal from Kristin (The Dazzling Details) this week!!! I'm so excited. Hopefull we'll finally have our date and location booked by the end of next week! Can't wait!

          I've heard great things about them, but I am not using a WC outside of what Las Caletas provides. Early on, I did contact Dazzling Details but she wasn't available on my date, so I didn't go very far there. But when she wasn't available - she did refer me to Incredible Weddings and Events.

            Hello!
            My fiance and I have been looking at wedding coordinators in Puerto Vallarta. We're getting married at Dreams PV. We contacted Kristin from Dazzling Details, but she is just a bit out of our budget, but I think her service would be great. We just contacted Lucie from Incredible Weddings and Events and she said she could offer us the Sunset Package for $1095. However, we don't know if it's worth it, because it's basically the same thing that the hotel would provide, we've just been a bit irritated about how long it takes for Marilu to get back to us with good information. Has anyone used Incredible Weddings? Has anyone had a wedding with Marilu as the planner, and if so, how did it go We're having 65-75 guests.
            AAAHHHH, this is driving me crazy! And I just realized that our wedding is less that 7 months away!!
            Any advice is appreciated!!

              I am TRYING to work with Marilu, but just to plan my welcome dinner at Dreams PV. My wedding is offsite and I have another coordinator with that package. But Marilu has been plain ol' awful - she either takes weeks to get back to me, or doesn't at all. And when she does get back to me, she doesn't give me the details I was looking for. My TA (Tammy, the host of this site) has helped a lot in dealing with her, but she's still pretty bad.

              I actually don't know if we have any girls on here that have already had their weddings at Dreams PV - am I wrong?
