slideshow or photo album at reception

Recommended Posts

Okay you know how some people have slideshows of their childhoods then their lives together.

I have downloaded mypulisher and have been thinking that I would create a photobook of our childhoood and lives together instead of doing a slideshow.

What do you ladies think I should do?

Oh Duh!! I'm so dumb! I'm having a blonde moment even though I have black hair. LOL. Okay so a couple of years back my friend got married (in a hometown wedding) and while everyone ate dinner she did a slideshow of all pics of her and her FI kissing. Every single pic was of them kissing. And she played "Kiss Me" by sixpence none the richer. I thought people were going to gag. And it literally lasted forever. It was so obnoxious and made all her single girlfriends feel soooooo depressed. So I totally know what your saying about not wanting it to be too much. But then I attended this other wedding where not only did they include pics of themselves as kids and then grownup, but they also included pics of most of their family and friends and everyone loved it and felt really included in the wedding. My FI and I are planning on doing a slideshow and we are going to make sure that we have as many pics as possible of us with our guests, this way people will feel welcome and they will know how much they mean to us. I was thinking that I would do it during the welcome dinner instead so it's kind of like a welcome slideshow. I think your album idea is very cute and you should def do that if you don't want to do the slideshow.

Christine,

I think it all comes down to how much time you have for your reception. I've been to a couple of weddings where they have slideshows during dinner and they've added a nice touch. But a couple seem to have tried to cram too much during their reception and it seemed very scripted.

Also, if you do, make sure the person who is setting it up during the reception knows what they are doing. My very good friend had a groomsman set it up on his laptop, well it took him like 15min to try to set the whole thing up.

Ooh that's such a cute idea Ann! Amy on my immediate to do list is to send a deposit to Juan, then do my website, and then order my STD's. Getting people's addresses has been a PITA! I also decided to get the boarding pass ones. Are you getting magnetic ones or the regular ones? I tried finding magnetic ones but I couldn't find them. offtopic2.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
