I'm soo excited! (and a little bit nervous...ok alot nervous) After almost booking 3 other photographers my best friend (who I was afraid of telling my idea to for fear she'd laugh) recommended Karolina Turek a photographer in Vancouver who's work is published in Maxim etc... Her work is amazing!!! Karolina Turek Photography - Coming Soon! I love everything she does. So the date is set for July 6th! smile124.gif We're doing a whole day of shooting both indoors and outdoors. My friend who's a professional makeup artist will be with us the whole day to do retouch work and help with my hair. We'll pick 20 photographs from the ones that are taken and she'll do her majic photoshop and retouch (mine will need it lots). She'll also do high res prints of all 20 photos as well as give me a high res cd. My question to all of you who have done this is, how do I make a book out of only 20 pics? Will that be enough you think? She doesn't think that I would need more than 20 because apparently they're quite powerful.

I am artistically challenged and I can't come up with any ideas as to how I can do this book with only 20 images? I suppose I can always do more if I have to later :S Also the prints that I will get from her are only 8 x 10 so I might have to have the book printed somewhere with bigger pages.

Are there printing sites that I can use or programs etc...?

Anyways if you have facebook Welcome to Facebook! | Facebook and want to see her group, just type Karolina Turek in the "groups search" and her photography group will come up. You can look at her pics there.

I can't wait to hear what advice you all have :)

How exciting!!

You can upload the high res pics that she gives you to a website like shutterfly or snapfish and then you can use their design tool to create a book. since you only have 20 pics I would suggest cropping those 20 creatively so that you end up with more images. So for instance, you could take a layout on shutterfly that has room for one large image and 3 smaller images on the same page. Use the full original image as the large one, then 3 cropped images to fill in the smaller blocks. Does that make sense?

Ana, that's so exciting that you booked your BD session! I checked out your photographer's photos and they're amazing. I had never even considered doing a BD session, but I must confess that all of the pics on this site are incredible, and have actually made me consider it. I know my FI would be in heaven - LOL! I don't think I'm brave enough though. I'm so jealous that you're doing this.

some pictures can spread across an entire page. Or 3/4 of the way through with a black space on the side.

You can add text so there is a picture on one page & words on the other.

Or maybe you can make a smaller book with less pages.

That book is amazing!!! Great job Sarah!!! I guess I am going to have to jump on the bandwagon and try to book one of these sessions with a photographer. Maybe I can just skip the whole wedding thing and just spend all the money on the pictures smile120.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
