Ethnic Brides...How 'Bout Makeup??

Recommended Posts

My sis and aunt swear by bare essentials, but they don't have my color. And the one color that is closest to my complexion is too light for my forehead.

If you buy some translucent powder and dust it over your foundation it will set and won't rub off on your hands or clothes. But if you do get it on your clothes, Shout wipes get it right off, its like magic!

I'm going to do my MAC trial today so that I have something to compare it to.
Good luck!

Girls, as scary as I think I look, I'm afraid to post the pics! I have the pics from the bare escentuals fiasco, but didn't go to Mac yet. I'm doing that today. I think the bare escentuals pics came out scary cuz I took them myself, in the bathroom mirror!

So this is what I'll do...After I go to Mac, I will come back & post pics from both experiences & then you guys can see the results!! SIGH...I hate that you guys LOVE PHOTOS!!! LOL..

The other reason why I have stuck with Perscriptives is the way they decide your color. they do this color test on your skin to determine your undertone (something like that) to pick which color is best for you. Some stores also do custom blend and make foundation just for you!
I think Prescriptives is supposed to be really good for your skin. If you have a P-counter near you I think it's definitely worth checking out.

What time are you getting married? If it's high noon that could be very different from sunset as far as how your face will react to the heat...

The step-by-step instructions would be cool just for own personal knowledge smile159.gif but I know you have plenty of stuff to do for your wedding. But can you tell me what kind of eyeshadow to get? I really like that yours looks so smooth and not glittery.

I use Bare Escentuals now, and I do really like it. When I first put it on, the color seemed a bit off...but as it sets, about 10 minutes later it looks really natural. I especially love that it looks natural in any light. Even outdoors! Its probably what I'll wear for the wedding, but I always want to be sure I'm using the best for whatever the situation!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
