Hi everyone,

I have been on this site before, but never really took the time to read the post. I am leaving on 2/8/09 for SGOR and getting married on 2/12/09. It will be just FI and I therefore it will be a small, simple and short wedding. I don't know if it is because the time is nearing or I am just having some wedding jitters but I am very nervous. I am sometimes having regrets on booking the basic wedding at SGOR because I read that the basic package comes with no kind of decorations. This sucks, but is it real noticeable if you don't do any decorations. I feel like I spent too much money to get nothing. Also any past brides that had their pictures taken, how was the outcome and quality.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated and if any past brides are still active on the board can you please assure me that I haven't made a bad choice in booking SGOR.

I can't comment on the SGOR specifically, but I *can* comment on the free wedding package.

When I started researching a Sandals wedding, I met someone on TripAdvisor that had the free wedding. They DID decorate for her. She got married on this pier thing at the SRB and they strung tulle and some flowery things on both sides of the pier. I've also see pics of the ocean-front gazebo decorated for a free wedding.

It's very simple which is good because less is more! If SRB is any indication, SGOR might do a little somethin'. Unless of course you're getting married at a random spot on the beach, in which case there won't be an arch or anything (because I saw one of those, too).

Amanda also had an upgraded package though. I saw one wedding on the pier while I was at SGOR, and there were no decorations that I can recall. We got married at the Reef Terrace Gazebo and they did not decorate. However, at that location it looked beautiful on its own with the ocean in the background. I have heard some brides say that they allowed them to decorate on their own. If I remember correctly, IrieBride did some hanging orchids herself and used them to decorate the gazebo. Hope that helps!

For all the brides who had their hair done at Sandals did you pay upfront?
We paid for that with CC when we sent all forms in. I received a receipt pd. invoice through email a few days later... This was for Sandals Antigua.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
