As of now, I don't have plans for a bachelorette, but we may do something in Jamaica. Wow, you have to work until your trip?! Bummer! I know you will get everything together though. I've been joking that I will arrive in Jamaica all tight and tense from all the work and no sleep--but once I get there, it will all be irie!

I'll probably cave and take off Friday. We're officially leaving on Sunday for Jamaica, but are leaving Saturday afternoon/evening for the airport where we'll stay overnight. I'd like to take a half day on Friday, but my work only allows us salaried folks to take whole days of vacation - crazy. I'm sure that all of next week will be a wash for me at work!

As a sidenote, I'm picking up my dress tomorrow night from David's Bridal. It had to be taken in - another sign that the stress of work and wedding has me wasting away! I'll post pics when I get back tomorrow night!

Congrats on your upcoming travels to Jamaica.... stay safe and enjoy yourself.... What Davids Bridal did you go too... I went to the one if Buffalo and had i hated ever mintue of it... but in the end i bought my Taira and the BM dresses, picking those up in June...

Asteff, I bought my dress at DB, too! I had a pretty positive experience there. I ordered it April 26 and it came on Monday! They had told me July so I was somewhat nervous, but it came in way ahead of time. What dress did you get?

Asteff and iriebride-

I just got off the phone with Darma. It was great. I was very surprised when she answered the phone when I called. I was actually returning her call from her returning mine..lo We were playing phone tag. I got the last little details set up and taken care of and I also found out she is going to be at SGOR the 15th-19th so she said she was gonna come look me up in the salon when I am having my hair done..lol Not that I really believe she will cause I know she is a busy lady, but hey it is the thought that counts right?? Anyways, keep an eye out for her she is 4'11 with dark hair and eyes...lol I can't wait to meet up with you ladies either!

When are you leaving? I can't believe how close we all are! It feels like just yesterday I started my 3 month coundown and really started buckling down on wedding plans! My problem right now is that I can't seem to stop buying clothes for the trip. That's ironic considering it's my honeymoon AND it's Jamaica, so clothes aren't really that important!

Speaking of clothes - what are you ladies taking to wear to dinner? We're there a total of 5 evenings (6 if you count the wedding, but I think we get dinner in our room that night), and I have 4 dresses. It's my understanding that not all of the restaurants for dinner require fancy attire and that a cute top and skirt, shorts, capris would work for most of them. Is that similar to what you ladies have read/heard?

Here are pics of my dress especially for the Sandals brides! The lighting is always horrible for pics in those little fitting rooms!

Your dress is beautiful! You are gonna look so awsome in it. Are you having your hair and make-up done? I would like to post a pic of my dress by my camera was broken. I actualy just got a new one yesterday. I just need someone to take my picture in it!
We leave Thursday morning but are leaving home Wendsday night and staying in a Hotel by the airport. We didn't want to take any chances and the hotel will store our van for the week. Plus we live 2 hours from the airport and have to be at the airport by 3:45 am. When are you leaving?

I have been totally stressing about the dress code and what to take. I kinda have a mix of dressy and casual. I bought 2 dresses but honestly, I don't look great in dresses. I did get a few very nice shirts that I love though that I also am worried about my FI. He doesn't want to take any dress pants and honestly he doesn't own any. He just want to wear kakhi shorts and nice shirts. He also doesn't want to take his heavy dress shoes either. He does have sandles that are dressier though. I just not sure they are good enough for all the resturants, especially the Italian one. So what do you all think? Do you think we should get him dress pants and take his heavy shoes? The sandals he does have do not have his toes exposed.

Thank you! Sorry the pics are so huge. I'm doing good just to get them posted correctly! I can't wait to you all in your dresses!

You're so close! We're leaving on Saturday afternoon/evening for the airport, and our plane leaves at 8:35 on Sunday morning smile123.gif

Our hotel is letting us park there for the week too. Sure beats finding long-term parking at the airport!

I have a mix of dressy and casual too - 4 dresses total, 2 pairs of shorts, 1 pair of denim capris, 1 short denim skirt, and 8-9 tops. I was on sandals.com last night after I posted, and I was relieved to see that only 2 of the restaurants are elegant vs. casual. That put my mind at ease. FI is only taking 1 pair of dressy pants, but he'll also have pants from his wedding suit and shoes as well. What is your FI wearing? Would the pants from his wedding attire be suitable for dinner at a fancier place if necessary? Honestly, I think you can get by with just one fancier outfit. After all, it'll probably only be worn for 2-3 hours at the most.

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
