Sandals Brides Updates!

Recommended Posts

I thought it might be fun to start a thread for Sandals brides getting married over the spring and summer months. I know there's a group of us getting married in May, and a few in June and beyond. Where is everyone with their planning?

I for one finally feel like everything is coming together, and I can relax - a little. Everything on the Sandals side of things is under control. I actually haven't emailed my WC with a question in almost 2 weeks!

I thought my dress was under control, but tried it on this weekend and discovered that it needs to be taken in, so I have to take a half day off work this Friday to go to David's Bridal for another fitting. Tip for every bride - definitely try on your dress 6-8 weeks before the wedding so alterations can be made if necessary.

We picked up our wedding bands yesterday, and it's taking everything I have to not wear it all the time - I'm trying to be good. FI's ring fits, but is snug. I'm worried that it won't fit in Jamaica, so he'll be trying it on periodically over the next couple weeks to decide of he needs it sized up. Fingers crossed that he was just having a "fat finger " day - haha!

My WC called me friday and I missed her call. When I called her back she must have been on the other line or something. Everything does seem to be coming together. I do kinda wish I had a couple of more months so I could take off a few more pounds. It took me longer than it should have to get motivated so it will be after the wedding before I get where I really want to be. This is ok though cause I have really been taking the weight off quickly in the last 7-8 weeks. I would also liked to have more time so I could spend more money!!! LOL Since the new year time has just flown by. Up until that point it seemed like May would never come!

I'm trying to tie up all of my loose ends now. I still need to get my viel, shoes, wedding jewelry and my FI still needs to get a suit!

On the Sandals side, we're making our final payment for the entire group today! I still need to send the WC our final selections this week (photography, decor, choosing dates & times for our free massage and mani/pedi, and other things that come with our wedding package.)

I've started packing all the OOT bag items, favors, etc. All I have to do now is buy all my cute honeymoon clothes, shoes, jewelry, etc.! I'm also preparing to mail out my passport invitation booklets (I know---waaayyyy late!) and final wedding update for the guests. Time is flying, but everything is coming together slowly but surely!

I'm 99.9% percent sure that we are having a legal ceremony there as well. Part of me wants to get married legally at home first for purely selfish reasons - so that I can start the name change process ASAP after we return from Jamaica and not have to wait 3 months! Somehow, I don't think that's a reason that will make FI run to the courthouse with me - haha!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
