What time are you getting married???

Recommended Posts

Well, we are getting married at 2, because after the ceremony we are going out on a boat for cocktails and then we'll come back for dinner and the rest of the night ... it will be hot, but that is pretty much just part of the deal :)

If we didn't have the plan to go out for the boat ride, I would want a 4:00 or 5:00 wedding I think...

I'm getting married at 5pm. Figured it would still leave enough sun for the photos. I also double checked with the photographer. Another suggestion, check the farmer's almanac. It should tell you the projected weather and time for sunset on any given date.

We're getting married at 3:00 P.M. Our wedding is Nov 8 in Tulum. The sun sets at 5:08 that day.

So we are thinking ceremony starts 3:15 (Mexico time) ends 3:45 and 15 minutes for quick hugs, that gives us about 1 to 1 1/2 hours for pics before total darkness. I just hope it is not too hot at that time anymore.

Wow Alin, you are giving me more and more information in threads everywhere! I am being married at 2pm (at Dreams as you know of course lol) but was thinking it would be too early... now that I know sun starts setting around 5pm, I think that 2pm will be not too bad! :)

We got married at 11:00 am in Jamaica. I wanted sunset but it was already booked. I am SOOO glad we got married early and not sunset. The sun was purfect in the sky for the pictures and the sun set behind our resort so you really wouldn't see it in the pictures. It was hot though. If I had to make a decision I would check out the position of the sun at what times. I liked the bright sun in the pictures rather than a dusk look. Just my prefrance (sp?). I have seen pictures of both and they are beautiful! I am glad it was bright and sunny for us. But whatever time you get married it will be beautiful!! Congratulations!

That's very true. Our guests are coming to a wedding in Mexico and they have to know it's going to be hot right? :)

You will be fine at 2 pm. The sun actually goes into the horizon and disapears at 5:08 so your pictures should be at a great time!

I arrive at the hotel on Nov 2. If you are still there maybe we can meet!

Alin, of course I will be there! I am around Nov. 1 - 8, with a couple of day trips so our wedding parties are going to be spending the week together! How many people do you anticipate coming to yours? I am hoping for around 25 to mine.

Just ask at the desk for Jody & Steve Clark and then come leave me a stickie on my door and let me know what room you are in and we'll get together for a drink for sure! Sunday night when you arrive is our "hello dinner" for everyone so Sunday might be a bit busy, but it's Mexico, so I am sure that even "busy" won't be that busy! cheesy.gif

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
