I did the Dreams wedding package, which was basically the free ceremony and $20pp for ceremony set up & cocktail hour and $20pp for reception set up. A bouquet was included, but I didn't use it. I had my own made.

I hired Maye Cortinas to coordinate my wedding and basically sent her pictures if things I wanted and she sourced them for me and quoted me a price. I booked my bouquet & flowers, music, cake, centerpieces, paper fan favors, firedancers, & luminaries through her. I used Mariana at Dreams for the food, set-up, tiki torches & wiring of the chinese lanterns. I arranged the photographer, videographer on my own and purchased the Chinese Lanterns on my own. I attached a copy of my budget if you're curious?

Let me know if you have anymore questions??

Thanks. It is really important to document every penny and build a cushion into your budget. Because things will come up and that way you won't go over. Just like anything else, stuff adds up fast and if you don't keep track, it could get you into trouble and add a lot of unnecessary stress!

I got the luminaries from Maye for 2.00 each. Now, it is a paper bag and a tea light, you can do much better by bringing them yourself. I just didn't push it because I negotiated other things down with her. So I picked and chose what was more importmant to me, so I didn't seem like I was trying to screw her!

Rebecca,

Thank you so much for the budget.. it's true there are so many "little things" that if you don't get track.. you could go way over budget.

Question for you if you don't mind. Were you able to negotiate the rate for your Rehersal dinner? If you had 60 and it only cost you $700, that's only like $12/pp.. maybe not everyone was there?

Actually, I tried to negotiate the rehearsal dinner, but they would only budge to $18pp vs $20pp. But I took it! We only had 40 at our rehearsal dinner. Bridal party and family only. They also wanted me to select two items. I begged for 3 items and they gave it to me! Are you having your rehearsal dinner at Portofino too? If so, I can tell you what was good!

No clue yet. I know I want to have it at Dreams. Most/All of our guest will be getting in that day, Friday. (Ceremony is on Sunday)

I went there in '05 and our group ate there one night. I remember it was great.

Sorry if you already answered this, but what was on your menu that night?

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
