Diamond White vs. White

Recommended Posts

Not so helpful... but off the site Maggie website:

What is the difference between White and Diamond White?

Our Diamond White is a very light ivory. It has a beautiful softness that makes it very flattering on all skin tones. White is a true, pure white color that would give you that “wedding white” look. Our authorized retailers will be able to show you the differences between Diamond White and White with their fabric swatches.

Abbie- I think EVERY bride who ever encountered the Maggie gowns for the first time wondered the same thing. My initial thought was the same as yours. Diamond White should be a brilliant, pure white. But not according to this manufacturer. Oh well. I'm all for cream/ivory/off white..WHATEVER. But it sure seems hard to match.

I think they created the diamond white because not everyone looks good in stark "white", so I think the diamond white is almost muted a bit, to look good on brides that want a "white" dress.

does that make any sense? I feel like I just said the word "white" 800 times and confused myself!

I think it's called "diamond white" because that sounds good. They are selling them to brides who probabaly recently got a diamond they can't stop looking at.

this is probably the color of my dress. it's called ivory, but it's somewhere between ivory & white. I guess thats diamond white. Mike wants to wear "pure, snowy white because he is angelic" he says. He says he wants a white shirt & white pants too. I'll get him some angel wings while I'm at it.

Oh ya...get some for me too while you're at it!

So, you have faith that the pure alongside the light ivory/diamond white will be ok? I know I'm over thinking this. But damn.

I'm sending something to IslandImporter.com where I found the shirts I want for the guys. They are good about customizing orders, and they do have an "off white" version of the pants I want for them, so I'm going to ask if they can do the shirts in that same color and material. The off white that the guy is wearing in the pic looks like what I am imagining for the Maggie Diamond White.

I NEED to be more worried about how I'm going to fit into this dress without putting somebody's eye out.

I haven't gotten to Mike's shirt yet, but I was hoping to find something similar to to color of mine. I need to spend a weekend shopping for his wedding clothes. He needs an entire vacation wardrobe. If I leave it up to him, he'll be in his torn up korn t-shirt from high school or something else with holes in it. He doesn't shop for clothes.

I bought my dress in diamond white. I thought it'd be WAAAAY more ivory than it is. To me, it looks stark white. They tried to show me the difference and I couldn't really tell. Diamond white apparently is just a very little, tiny bitt less white than the White dresses. It's white, not ivory!

I don't think it'd look weird or bad, etc if your FH's shirt didn't quite match your dress! Stop stressin'! wink.gif

Thanks. I'll do just that! Its amazing how we brides can get hung up on one detail til it makes us insane. I gotta chill. I'll never survive the next year otherwise. LOL

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
