DR Brides: Post your Dates & Locations

Recommended Posts

Hi trepstep! That is so crazy, we were originally getting married on January 2nd at Majestic Elegance too! We have since then changed our date to January 6th at a different location, but our group will still be staying at ME from January 4th-11th. My fiance and I will be there from January 1-11th, so we will probably see your wedding set up! We have a large group as well, 65 booked so far, so I am in the same boat as you with making reservations for our welcome/groomsdinner. I received an email address from another bride on here to use for making reservations, but I think if you are still planning your wedding at ME, the WC should be able to help you with everything. Since we are not having our wedding there anymore, the WC will not work with us anymore. Have you visited ME before?

I was told you can book your welcome dinner at the buffet and they section off a private room for you (at the colonial at least).  I was told by other brides that they wont book any other reservations in advance.  Please share if you find out anything else as we would like to do a dinner not necessarily at the buffet.  If you have a private reception and don't do your "steakhouse" semi private dinner I am told you can book that reservation as it is included in your wedding package!

We've chosen to be married at the Gran Bahia Principe Cayo Levantado at Samana, on May 9, 2012.  It will be our first time at that specific resort, but not at a Bahia Principe.

In the past we've been to the Riu Bachata, Gran Ventana, Victoria Golf and Beach Resort, and the Bahia Principe San Juan.  If you have any questions about these resorts, I'm more than willing to answer them, and have lots of pictures to share!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
