Scrapbooking ladies need your help/advice/suggestions!

Recommended Posts

Hi ladies! I've decided I want to make my two BM's a scrapbook for part of their gifts. The problem, I've never done this before. The scrapbooks won't be terribly huge as I'm not THAT creative and I would never finish it. But I need ideas to go in them.. here is what I have thought of so far..

A page with their horoscope sign

Best friend quotes from various places

Pictures of us doing various things throughout the years

Their favourites... of everything and anything

Little sayings in there throughout of how much they mean to be.. yadda yadda

What else? I guess I'm looking for themes for each page.. but need some idea help here.. Thanks alot ladies!!

P.S. I have this scrapbooking store very close to me and could not BELIEVE how much stuff was in there! Holy cow I could spend a ton of money.. heh

You could ask the saleslady in the store near you to give you an idea for a mini album. That way you would have less pages to make and smaller size pages too. The store should have some samples of things they have made in the store, then you can copy their ideas to save time. You could buy a kit or several patterns of coordinated paper from one brand to make it easier to decide what paper to use. There are nice papers out now by Basic Grey, a company I like.

Thanks Tammy and Carly! I did have the idea of leaving the last page blank to fill in a picture of us from the wedding.. I think I will do that.

And Carly you are right.. maybe once I have finalized the pics I use, the theme(s) will become apparent :)

I scrapbook a lot!!! I would do something like a 8x8 album. You could do an ABC theme, where you could take each letter of the alphabet and put a pic or 2 to that letter. For example: H=horoscope sign, B-picture of their bouquets, a bridesmaid pic, bridal shower pic

Or here are some other page ideas-pictures from your bridal shower, or trying on dresses, bachlorette pictures, pictures of them helping with invites, gift bags etc.

If you have any other questions feel free to PM me.

I don't scrapbook, but I am working on a photoalbum for my HBMs (honarary bridesmaids)tonight. I bought these small, plastic albums at AC Moore for 50 cents each. I have filled it with pictures of us together, mostly silly. I bought a quote stack with quotes about friends & put thsoe on some of the pictures. Then I also typed up my own captions.

For the cover & back, I am superimposing their heads onto the bodies of funny looking BMs. Hopefully I can finish that tomorrow.

I'm making 8 of these so I wanted to keep it simple.

A friend of mine once made us picture frames that had magazine clippings on it. I loved that gift. She went through magazines & cut out anything that was an inside joke. That might be cute in your scrap book.

My $.02...The girls are going to love it because it came from YOU! Especially since they know you're not a die-hard scrapbooker like some of us addicts! For your first time, keep them somewhat simple, use stickers and die-cuts and sayings with each picture, you don't need fancy backgrounds and expensive paper! It's comin from the heart, and it's the pictures and love involved that are going to be the most important!

HAVE FUN!

P.S. And I can't wait to hear about you becoming a scrapbook addict very very soon!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
