My previous employer wants me to come back!

So I got an email today from a friend of mine who I used to work with, and was also my friedn before that, she actually got me "in" my previous job. I left there 6 months ago b/c it was so stressful to the point where I went home so upset sometimes, I dreaded Sun nights b/c I didnt want to go to work Mon morning. Also, they were going through a merger type thing so I thought I mine as well branch out now since I'm unhappy. I worked as a sales admin and processed/reasearched orderes for 18 sales reps, did their commissions, my mgr at the time didn't even know how to type an email so I had to do a lot of things for him, spredsheets and all, and I worked so late most of the time. Without getting into everything involved, trust me when I say - it was a lot of work. So anyway she emails me and said that they changed the process and I wont get into every detail, but she told me changes were made and it's def better there. She said for me to call the mgr and he can tell me more info. They'd also pay me a few bucks more than my leaving salary there. The location JUST SO HAPPENS to be down the street from where I'm at now. It's just very confusing for me to decide b/c I'd like to go for the $, and if the process changed and is better, why not? I always used to like what I did but just thought the process and work load were out of control. The job I have now is good, I like it a lot. I leave here everyday at the same time and work stays here, I'm not stressd or worried about work when I leave here. The work I do I like too.

Does anyone have any advice?

There is def growth where I'm at now, being a bank there are so many diff positions here. At my old job, the only step up is management or to become a sales rep- which neither interest me. This is such a tuff one for me!smile41.gif

Yes that's exactly what I'm worried about. They were always cool mgrs, and we were always friendly with them. But from working there before, I KNOW how they are and how they sugar coated things. I was there for a couple years and talked to them about how I ws un happy and needed help and they kept telling me yes ok, we are going to hire u an assistant, but they never did so i had no choice. NOW she is saying every admin there has an assistant so the work is devided basically.

Maybe you could make a list of things that you would need if you were to go back to that old job - for instance - an assistant - and then when you go talk to your fmr manager you could make sure that you would get that this time around. I am the worst at making decisions too! Are you happy with your job now? I mean besides all the crazy's that you have talked about there!

My job here is great. I like it, I like the work i do, the people, location, etc. To be HONEST though I did take a small pay cut. Some people thought it was stupid of me, but that is how miserable I was and how bad the previous job was, that I was willing to take a pay cut just to get outta there.

jac, you should make a list of pros and cons to going back. see if that helps. also listing out the things you want in order to return is good. obviously if theyre coming to you now, they want you, so theres gotta be room for things you can ask for if you decide to go back.

It doesnt hurt to check things out, but Ihave always stuck my the moto "money isnt everything" I had a job that I got paid a whole lot more than what I do now but it jsut wasnt worth it, IMO its better to do something you enjoy rather than dreading work... thats the worst!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
