I hinted at it a couple of times (by hint I mean I told him, showed him, and drew for him exactly what I wanted until I felt he completely understood what I was saying.) I also explained to him the whole diamond C's b/c he is color blind and would totally bring me a ring that was brown thinking it sparkled beautifully. My friend's husband is a jewler and he got if from him, but not until I approved of it. LOL. Okay I'm a control freak I admit it.

Well, I had seen a ring that one of my clients at work had, it had a pear shaped center stone which I thought was unusual and really liked. I mentioned the ring to my husband (boyfriend then) and he was appalled at the thought of a pear shaped stone! So in my effort to convince him it was pretty, I found a pic of one I liked on a website and showed it to him. He still wasn't that impressed.

A few weeks later we were out shopping - actually trying to find some new jeans for him - and he stopped in one of the jewelry stores. We browsed around, I didn't really like anything that much, and then he asked if I wanted to see what size my finger was. Being a total dork (serisouly, I was made fun of for this for months!) I said, "Oh no, I think I'm like a 6 or something..." he kept asking and saying, "let's just see for sure" and I kept putting him off... mostly I was just not in the mood for the saleperson to pressure us into something and all that.

Anwyay, after all that, he began ring shopping! I had NO idea at the time - though I probably should have! He spent weeks going to stores and finally ended up using the same jeweler/designer who had made my older sisters ring. He picked out the diamonds individually and designed the ring. He did GREAT!!! It's a platinum band with a round center stone and two pear shaped stones on the sides. It's gorgeous and so perfectly "me"!! It was a great "marriage" of his traditonalism and my infatuation with the pear shape. He's the best!

I will do that this weekend for sure. I will probably take a million to find one that looks good, lol, we tried to take pics of my sister's engagement ring to show people far away, and we took about 30 and hated them all. lol I will see what I can do, I will post one no matter what though. Just for you TammyM wink.gif

Just a helpful hint, use a solid background.. Like black or red. it helps show the design.. (you can use a back of a shirt or something)

Sorry for the hi-jack... :-)

when i try to take a pic of mine, it's always blury - to get a clear picture i have to be so far away from my ring it defeats the purpose!

    • we ended up using Facebook messenger when we were in Mexico - the hotel had free wifi and at least 1 person from each family/couple had FB on their phone already - it was pretty easy to communicate among guests "hey, we're heading to the beach bbq for lunch." or "everyone is hanging at the small pool today".  a plus was that some people tried to get a hold of me via FB on the day of the wedding and I was totally not checking my phone - they were asking if the wedding was outside given the rain forecast, thankful my mom, MOH and a few other friends were on the group and could respond for me :)

    • Hi Everyone, So, I was cleaning out my closet and realized that I never sold off my extra wedding OOT bag stuff from our wonderful DW.   46 Daily Spanish for Dummies 30 Pool colored OOT fabric bags - approximately 13in x 13in. They lay flat.  I used them for our wedding and they were perfect for everything we needed to fit in each bag. There’s a slight shade variation in the group; I’m guessing some were cut from a different bolt of fabric.  They are also a little wrinkled from storage and will probably be wrinkled from shipping. I have three additional ones, but they somehow got something on them (likely toddler related). If needed, I can try to wash it out and send those as well.
    • I’m getting married in six months to my foreign girlfriend. I was advised by a friend that one of the things I need to do before saying I do is to get a prenuptial agreement. Basically it’s supposed to protect my assets and properties in case my relationship with my future wife goes down the drain. I don’t know though if this is an acceptable practice when marrying Kiev ladies. I don’t want to do it if it would be insulting on her end. I need advice on this. Please help me.
