Tammy have you tried cleaning your ring with amnonia? My friend told me about it. I just soak it in amnonia mixed with a bit of dish soap for 30 mins. I have a little brush to clean the small parts. it looks amazing after, it sparkles like when I first got it!

My husband picked the ring out by himself. I never talked about rings - except for when we first met 3 years before we started dating. We were at a dinner party and I talked about how I hate diamonds given the political situation. He had felt the same way and never met a woman who would say something like that (funny). Anyway, after he proposed, he went on and on for 20 minutes about how he found a no-conflict diamond from Canada and how much he thought about it and what I said about the diamonds made from lasers (that night three years before we even started dating) but they just didn't look the way this one did and blah, blah, blah. My ring is beautiful - it took him, apparently, a long time to find it. I have very small hands so I can't imagine any other ring working for me (it's low profile, etc.). He thought of everything (he's so thoughtful) and I really, really love what he picked out.

Funny story - he stole one of my rings from the drawer to get my size. Of course, I wear it on my right hand so it's too big for my left hand (not quite sure why I haven't got it sized yet!).

Were you completely surprised about your ring?

I would love to hear stories about picking out the ring...
For my engagement ring, my husband set it in a simple setting, then we went back to the jeweler an I designed my ow setting.

For wedding bands, we figured it in the wedding budget, so we picked them out together.

Its so nice to hear everyones ring stories, before I got engaged I was obsessed with ring shopping. Now my obsession turned to the wedding. Anyway, mines an Asscher cutt from BlueNile. I basically picked it out and told him that's what I wanted (I know its not that romantic, but I figured this was something I would have for the rest of my life and I didn't want to send him off into the dark or have him stress about it).

So if it works, attached is a picture of my ring.

I think I already responded in the band thread, but I'm doing a round eternity ring from BlueNile. Not nervous at all about ordering from them. When we first started shopping for rings every jewerly store we went into they kept asking us....."So,um have you done any research online??" meaning yea have you seen what ridiculous prices we charge compared to BN.

Some wholesalers will even use BN prices as a guide to charge their customers becasue they know they can't compete. I recommend them highly!!

    • Hi everyone! I have been doing lots of research on various wedding venues all around Mexico, my fiance wants a destination wedding and I am happy to have a wedding wherever so long as the vibe is right and guests are happy!  I have been seriously looking at Cabo Azul and was trying to find potential costs for them, but only found a page about their wedding costs from 2010. Does anyone have any updated information on costs / reviews they would like to share of this venue? Or advice in general, anything helps. Thanks so much, happy wedding planning to all!
    • Hello everyone, I am dreaming of a wedding in Costa Rica and was wondering if I could get any help with venues and wedding planners. I am thinking Tamarindo because a close friend of mine lives there and I've been in town more than a couple of times, she's being helpful but is at a loss when it comes to this subject really so I was wondering if anyone here had recommendations. I am not closed to other town suggestions either, if I happen to find a good place and staff somewhere else. These are the places I have so far, has anyone had any experience with any of them?  Stay In Tamarindo Luxury Villas in Costa Rica Luxury Villas Pinilla Tropical Homes of Costa Rica The Point Luxury Villa Thank you so much for your help!
